Episode 86: Chat with Author and Co-Founder of We Need Diverse Books Lamar Giles

    in Writing

I came across Lamar Giles when the diversity discussion hit the social media big-time in literary circles, and I've been following the discussion ever since. After being blown away with Lamar's frank responses to some of the inane questions around the #weneeddiversebooks hashtag, I emailed him and asked if he'd be willing to hang out with me. He agreed, and I was and am thrilled.

We get into the tough questions around diversity in books: how to consider including characters and backgrounds that involve a non-white and/or non-privileged experience. How to approach others in order to gain insight to experiences we may not have. And why this is so critical in our literature and society.

If you've struggled to write stories that reflect our culture and have felt like an inadequate writer as a result, this is the episode for you.

    Release The Kraken!

    in Politics Conservative

Two private political parties use public money to stage a show that provides the appearance of democracy as a small group of men purchase the two stooges who end up ‘competing’ to sit in the Emperor’s chair and do the bidding of transnational oligarchs. Under emergency powers, debt money and corporatist-fascism the Constitution is gone, elections are a farce and the liberty once enjoyed in a federated republic is replaced by hedonistic license and servitude in a pseudo-empire for the psychopaths that control the world from the shadows.  When you are aware of a tyrannical ‘regime change’, revolution is the proper response; but without the Militia of the Several States, sound money nor an awareness that globalists have conducted an invisible coup people settle for a faux fight between the progressive left and the progressive right.

Until the scheme is exposed and destroyed we merely shuffle game pieces from the left to the right and back again as we slowly bleed out on the altar of diabolical Cultural Marxism and inane political correctness…time is nearly up…seconds count and either you fight or wither away

    RELEASE THE KRAKEN!

Break the rigged system, smash it to pieces. To defeat the lawless hordes of Cultural Marxists, corporatists, oligarchs, kleptocrats, useful idiots and their fellow travelers you MUST CRUSH the Neocon progressive-socialists on the ‘left’, ‘right’ and everywhere. . .for liberty!

More Than a Chock Full of Current Events! Afronerd & The Mid Week, Wed@7:30pm

    in Politics Conservative

Hey peeps...it's on! Check out the latest episode of the Afronerd Radio's Mid Week in Review podcast airing this Wednesday at 7:30pm EST.  Join Capt. Kirk and Dburt as they tackle the following (mid) week topical mysteries: Dburt alludes to an intelligence quotient quagmire revolving around a few inane stories (NC 188 million lotto winner and her choice in paramours, TX teen killed while vandalizing an auto dealership, WH staffer shoots at boyfriend, etc); hat tip to Shadow and Act for their highlighting a web series about a Back to the Future slavery scenario; perhaps a Blue Area segment, concerning less with Houston Texan RB, Arian Foster's atheism admission and more about his financial responsibility; yet another article from The Root conflating thug attire with casual wear and profiling; more on the media's math: Blonde White female(FOX's Megyn Kelly) > Blacks + Mexicans ÷ War hero= 0 respect; Verge Entertainment's Joseph Illidge has a interesting Mission piece positing the viability of mass protests against comic book publishers.  And lastly, Chinese hip hop channels US trap music for the Middle Kingdom (sigh..."nigga" remains unchanged in Manderin).  Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.

    Non-Aggression Principle Episode 73015

    in Politics

Tonight NAP has a guest Kirk French, so don't expect the typically great analysis by Paul and the inane banter of Tim because Kirk got something to say,  Tune in for news and review including the Samuel DuBose shooting in Cincinnati, the special relationship between Cecil the lion and his dentist, and of course Planned Parenthood.  And if we have time maybe a moron or two.

    The Prayer Motivator Minute #665

    in Christianity

E.M. Bounds said, "Long, discursive, dry, and inane are the prayers in many pulpits. Without unction or heart, they fall like a killing frost on all the graces of worship. Death-dealing prayers they are. Every vestige of devotion has perished under their breath. The deader they are the longer they grow."

Our prayer motivator passage from the Word of God today is Matthew 6:6 which reads: "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

Our prayer motivator quote today is from Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He said, "True prayer is done in secret, but this does not rule out the fellowship of prayer altogether, however clearly we may be aware of its dangers. In the last resort it is immaterial whether we pray in the open street or in the secrecy of our chambers, whether briefly or lenghtily, in the Litany of the Church, or with the sigh of one who knows not what he should pray for. True prayer does not depend either on the individual or the whole body of the faithful, but solely upon the knowledge that our Heavenly Father knows our needs."

    The Prayer Motivator Minute #621

    in Christianity

Bryce Petty said: "A mentor of mine dared me to take prayer a step further—or several steps further—and literally pray before each snap. My pre-snap prayer doesn’t have to be long or drawn out—just a simple, 'All right, God, here we go.' And a remarkable thing has happened. Praying before each snap has given me more peace and comfort than I ever thought was possible amongst so much action and chaos. It helps me keep perspective. Jesus just wants us to want Him in our lives, especially when we feel like our backs are against the wall. He wants to be there to share in our successes and—perhaps even more so—in our failures."

Our prayer motivator passage from the Word of God today is Nehemiah 4:7-9 which reads: "But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it. Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them."

Our prayer motivator quote today is from E.M. Bounds. He said: "Long, discursive, dry, and inane are the prayers in many pulpits. Without unction or heart, they fall like a killing frost on all the graces of worship. Death-dealing prayers they are. Every vestige of devotion has perished under their breath. The deader they are the longer they grow."

    I was just thinking...News in 2015

    in Education

This year we decided to do a news introduction. Most of what passes for news n the mainstream media is fluff or slanted or just plain inane.

It is difficult each week to decide on the topics at hand especially with a global audience and we are centered in North America the system that we speak about and it overt and covert wrangling is not just confined to this hemisphere.

Tonight we will hit on news stories that cover the gamut, and later in the broadcast we will concentrate on one or more subjects of interest to see if we can flesh them out.
