The title itself displays TWO of the cardinal sins of debate and argument - "poisoning the well (casting doubt on someone/something beforehand by using demeaning language" and "ad hominem attacking (personal attacks on your opponent rather than facts)". I see it all over Facebook, on TV, in "the comments section", and in my personal and professional life: individuals and groups committing fallacies, by not defending their position and instead resorting to derogatory language, misleading statements, and deceitful half-truths. Brad Shilling will join me to discuss this from the perspective of a Toastmaster member, and hopefully we can come up with a few humorous examples. Call us at 646-721-9605, or listen live at BlogTalkRadio.
