In every generation, there are men and women whom we can look up to and respect. It is amazing to me that the greatest leaders, are humble people who can talk to you as if you are a friend and at the same time lead thousands of people in any great organization.
We have met several of these great leaders and tonight I would like to share some thoughts on leadership after all this is an educational broadcast.
Capt. Jerry Prickett USN Retired teaches a class at Promise Christian University on Leadership and Management. He goes on to describe the qualities of a great leader. We should pay attention to the qualities that truly makes a person great. It's not their money, nor their position, nor their accomplishments. What truly makes a leader great is how he impacts the lives of those he comes into contact with.
I would like to share my thoughts on great leadership. A potential great leader is willing to start at the bottom, and do the little things well.
Get ready for a packed show that you don't want to miss. To kick off the show, fresh off of his performance at the Power of Laughter Luncheon and will be live in the studio, Mr. Yancey will talk to Global Entertainment's violinist/MC Humble G. They will talk about his career, why he chooses to be positive and his new album. Then tune in as Mr. Yancey talks to Frederica Mayes from B.E.M.A.D. There are many who talk about how unhappy they are with the decisions that local, state and federal politicians make, but what are they doing to influences the decisions that politicians make or electing politicians that share their interests? This is what Mr. Yancey will talk with Ms. Mayes about. Then to finish out the show, get ready for another segment of "What's Going On in Your Ward". This week we will talk to Cleveland Ward 1 Councilman Terrell Pruitt. We will find out what new and exciting things are going on in Ward 1. We learn in Numbers 12: "Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth."
It was against this humble man that his brother and sister rose up against him because he married a Cushite. And they said, "Hasn't he also spoken through us?"
This attitude angered the Lord! But he spared Moses' sister. She got a temporary case of leprosy but was healed and able to return to her family.
Note: Obviously, God was not offended about who Moses married. So why should anyone else be? God teaches us in the Bible that we are not to judge others.
Please spend some quality time with Petrey and Gredalin as we discuss anything and everything about the government that is currently failing us. And anything else you want to bring up that is on your mind these days. This show is dedicated to speaking the harsh truth about today's terrifying reality and is designed for the people, by people, of the people. WHICH is US, YOU and I!!! Let's find the truth together and expose the people responsible for getting away with such atrocities. They must be stopped and this is our way of doing our job as citizens who genuinely care about our country. Please give us a call @ 215-383-3977 if you want to speak your mind. We invite your opposing viewpoints as well and look forward to hearing from you, the listeners, the people who make this show worthwhile.
Your Humble Host,
Most of us want to make a difference in the lives of others as we grow in our walk in Christ. 1st Corinthians 1:30 says , " It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God - that is , our righteousness, holiness and redemption. " If we are to be humble does that mean we are to accept a reliance upon someone greater than ourselves? Do we keep trying in our own strength to show humility but it is not sustained or a natural outpouring of who we really are? We say and hear , " be more like Jesus ", and try to be like Him. However unless our hearts are changed from contrite to humble we fail repeatedly and are left tired and utterly disillusioned, as if God has somehow forsaken us in the process. Isn't it time we ask God for help by letting His grace and indwelling Spirit work in our lives ....especially in our hearts? Do our hearts reflect the very core of who we are and is it the foundation of our emotions, our mind, and our will? Do our hearts primarily dictate our beliefs and behaviors? We Are " HIS "
GOD'S Word presents the concept of humility as a desireable virtue that HE expects to find in HIS people. Its opposite is discribed as pride which manifests itself in various behaviors that are deceptive to the one possessing it. Pride can vary from a very subtle condition to a full blown disfunction. However, it is all sin. Today, we are reminded to acept the fact of our condition so that GOD can heal us. Join us today at 6:00 AM for live prayer seeking HIS face. Dial 714.459.3963.
