Hugh O'Brian, best-known for portraying legendary lawman Wyatt Earp, talks about his acting career as well as HOBY, his successful youth leardership project, in this special episode. O’Brian’s movies include such popular releases as The Shootist, Ten Little Indians, Come Fly with Me, and Twins. With the help of his lovely wife, Virginia, he’s also written a memoir titled Hugh O’Brian, or What’s Left of Him -- just in time to celebrate his 90th birthday on April 19! One of the few remaining classic Western stars, O'Brian has amazing stories of an era in entertainment that there soon will be too few who can share in first person. Friends, family and fans have been encouraging Hugh to finish his autobiography for several years. The book chronicles many never before published stories about Marilyn Monroe, the Marine Corps, living at the House of Seven Garbos, meeting Albert Schweitzer, and being shot between the eyes on the set of The Shootist because the director wanted a film shot without interruption, which wouldn’t allow for the use of a stuntman. O’Brian’s impressive showbiz resume includes 7 Broadway shows, 33 films and 450 television shows. He has a well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a Golden Globe Award.
Virginia O’Brian, film historian James Colt Harrison, and Classic Movie Guide founder Diana Saenger will also participate in this celebration of Hugh O’Brian’s upcoming 90th birthday. Happy Birthday, Hugh!

Two great creative minds in the same virtual room!
Join Heath as he picks the brain of two creative, eclectic geniuses: Popular author and economic blogger, Charles Hugh Smith, and CEO of eReleases, Mickie Kennedy.
Charles Hugh Smith is an American writer and blogger. He is the principal writer for the site "Of Two Minds”. which began in 2005, and quickly climbed to the top of the ranks, reaching No. 7 in CNBC's top alternative financial sites.
Mr. Smith’s commonsense social and economic commentary is featured on a number of sites including: Zerohedge.com, The American Conservative, Peak Prosperity, Business Insider, and Lew Rockwell .
Mickie Kennedy began e-Releases over 14 years ago after working in a PR environment that was not meeting the needs of small- and medium-sized businesses and firms. He struck out on his own to build a company that would give smaller firms access to the newswire - with a personal touch. eReleases has grown exponentially since then and even works with big names now, but the spirit of Mickie's original intent has not changed. eReleases delivers personal service and exceptional value to every customer, every time a release is submitted, at every price point.

One of my mentors who was a great leader in my eyes, knew just how to inspire me. He told me he couldn’t motivate me that my motivation was within and it was his job to remove the obstacles between me and my motivation. This was very impactful for me and I use this as the basis in my coaching. In my mind Leadership is more like coaching. It is knowing how to inspire and bring out the best in others through recognizing their skills and abilities, enabling them and supporting them in removing the obstacles in their way. Leadership is at the crux of productivity. That is self leadership as well as leadership of a team. Leaders do need to lead by example. When leadership fails, the team is less effective and efficient and can cost the organization significant sums in lost profits that result from direct and indirect costs.
Think of your team as a group of musicians. Each one plays beautifully on their own when playing the instrument of their choice. Look at the power that group of musicians has together as they become an orchestra. That is where magic is made as they play together seamlessly. Today we will look what a conductor has to teach about leadership.
Our Guest: Hugh Ballou
Hugh Ballou teaches leaders around the globe how to build synergy with teams and how to build effective processes that bring success to any organization - no matter how big or how small. He brings a wealth of experience as a prominent conductor of musical ensembles to his innovative leadership approach.
He is author of multiple books on Transformational Leadership and works as executive coach, process facilitator, and strategist. As a powerful motivational speaker, he teaches the fine art of leadership employed every day by musical conductors.
Erik Neff has established himself as a masterful guitarist, vocalist and performer with deep roots in Blues, Country and Rock. Erik’s Debut album “At the End of the day” almost defies categorization as he brings these influences together which will be released November 2014.
This passion was authentically captured through the Seasoned skills of Grammy Award winning producer Ryan Greene (Megadeth, Jay Z, Cheap Trick) and producer Sean Neff (Dolly Parton, Rascal Flats, Chicago, Bon Jovi).
Keeping alive a rich Texas tradition of glowing tubes, screaming pickups, and sultry vocals Erik Neff’s Vintage Theory brings old school tones together with a modern flare. Erik Neff and Andrew Supulski share lead guitar roles and are accompanied by Rhys Johnson on bass and Steven Watford on drums. Andrew’s ability to incorporate melodic leads and pure emotion into his leads will keep you wanting more. From slide, to finger picking, to ripping leads Andrew Supulski’s playing shows a deep knowledge of different techniques and styles. Rhys and Steven lay down the perfect foundation for the guitar duo. Erik Neff’s vocals and guitar work brings another dimension to the line up that adds a layer of depth which is what makes Erik Neff’s Vintage Theory one of a kind.
