First there were the Restaurant Wars. Then all the various cooking wars, including dessert-only wars. Then – you had to see this coming – the Cupcake Wars. My guest this week is Jason Hisley, and you know from that show. He was a winner! At the time, he was head chef at the Flavor Cupcakery. Now he not only has his own store called La Cakerie, but he's a chain! He has one store in Mt. Vernon and another opening very soon in Towson.
None of this is by chance. After graduating with a BA in Baking and Pastry Arts – did you even know that degree existed! – he traveled Europe, finally earning a Pastry Certification from the Restaurant School in Vitznau, Switzerland. That training is what got him the work that led to Flavor Cupcakery and onto fame and Fortune on the Food Network, and then to his own stores.
La Cakerie has a much more extensive inventory than his award-winning cupcakes. It will have pies, pretzels, cakes of all kinds, shapes, and sizes, AND he can cater to any diet, be it gluten-free, vegan, or whatever.
Here's one of the really surprising things about this guy: He's only twenty-five. Sheesh! What's he going to have done by thirty?

By taking into account the interest rate and amount of debt, debt stacking identifies an ideal order for you to pay off your debts. You begin by making consistent payments on all of your debts. The debt that debt stacking suggests that you pay off first is called your target account.
There are programs you can enroll in that will automatically select your target account for you using a variety of criteria to help you get out of debt faster. When you pay off the target account, you roll that payment into the payment that you were making on the next target account. This helps help you reduce the effect of compound interest working against you.
