Rory McIlroy won his first British Open and third major championship Sunday, becoming just the third golfer to win three majors before age 26 (Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods). We're still learning what context to discuss Rory in, because it's kind of blurred right now.
Have we ever seen the three major sports GMs in Houston under the public scrutiny and criticism Daryl Morey, Jeff Luhnow & Rick Smith are dealing with this sumer?
We've got to be careful with this one, but we can talk some immigration. I mean, I am sort of right here in the middle of all of it.
U.S. military forces were ill-prepared for waging war in Iraq and Afghanistan at the dawn of the 21st century. Military leaders quickly realized that U.S. soldiers on the ground needed knowledge of the people’s culture in order to win the war. Military leaders turned to anthropologists from around the U.S. to provide them with the expertise to implement a program that will equip soldiers in the field to win the hearts and minds of the people in the combat areas. Thus, a new field of warfare was born: Cutlure Centric Warfare. Today, we will discuss how the military used Anthropologists to solve this problem and its implications in future military campaigns.

When our service members are diagnosed with either PTSD or TBI, or just a simple cold, the Veterans Administration's immediate response is to prescribe drugs. Joining me on the show is John Keith, former Navy Firefighter, and founder of OIF Veterans Community, a group of veterans determined to help their fellow veterans find answers to the many questions they're asking everyday. John is a survivor of the lethal cocktail and he will gladly tell you the horror stories he endured while taking VA perscribed drugs; most importantly, he'll tell you how he got off them. Assignment tells the stories of America, from history, military, politics, social and economic, to entertainment - the things you never thought about to the trivia you never knew.
As the world prepares for the Centennial observance of the start of World War I, virtually every media outlet around the globe is preparing both coverage and content to saturate the minds of a public which has virtually no memory of the conflict. Included in this historical deluge, will be a small mountain of new books professing to have new observations and interpretations of the first great global conflict of the 20th Century. And though much of this content will be focused on interested adults, some publishers are taking the time and effort to reach out to teen and young adult audiences and introduce them to World War I through the medium of graphic books. An evolved version of comic books, graphic books provide a picture component in addition to text. Graphic books have been growing in both popularity and sophistication over the past few decades, and several publishers are going to be issuing volumes with a World War I focus in the months and years ahead.
So it is no surprise that one of of these books is going to focus on one of the most compelling personalities of the First World War: Baron Manfred von Richthofen. Known as the "Red Baron," Richthofen was the highest scoring fighter "ace" of World War I with 80 confirmed "kills" against Allied aircraft. And despite being killed during the "Michael" Offensive in 1918, remains today one of the most respected and well-known personalities of the conflict. To learn more about Manfred von Richthofen and the new graphic book which tells his story, join military historian, author and journalist John D. Gresham (@greshamj01) for Military Monday at 1 p.m. Eastern. His guest this week is Zenith Press (@Zenith_Press) author and illustrator Wayne Vansant, the creator of the new graphic book THE RED BARON. So tune in for an hour on the history of World War I, and the story of the Red Baron.
