Trust Your Journey --Breast Cancer Awareness

    in Lifestyle

"There are many things I learned from my dance with Breast Cancer but the three most important are these--there is always light at the end of any tunnel, gratitude can be found in every day and the pricelessness of friends and family sharing my journey. Oh yeah, one other important thing. Without the cancer journey there would be no Trust Your Journey."  ~Beth Brownlee

Breast Cancer Journey as a Graphic Narrative

    in Current Events

Breast cancer is not easy, simple or just like everyone else's experience.  It is unique, it touches every cell in your body and screams with all your emotions to pay attention and be present.  Why are we making such light of this process as the numbers of women who have gone through the disease say, 'oh, I did that, you'll do fine'. Have we minimalized the pain, suffereing, medical interventions, loss of self and damage to the physical and spiritual body?  Why is this becoming so ordinary?

Tina Martel is a visual artist and author of Not in the Pink which she has documented her personal journey with stage two B breast cancer.  She tells all; from the moment of discovery of the lump through all the treatments with details that many are so afraid of writing about or even voicing.  It is a raw book with details that we wished we did not want to ask as we are afraid of the answers, yet it is so important to know ahead of the process so that you may start your own healing with your thoughts and how your journey will play out.

This book is for those who are on any part of this path, for those who have loved ones on the path and even for those who are already on a different path as it is relatable and honest about Tina's life.  Sometimes what isn't voiced is more scarey than what is.  Take a risk and read this book with kindness and love in your heart for those who are on any health crisis journey.

    HOPE AND HEALING

    in Christianity

The strongest temptation is no excuse for sin. However great the pressure brought to bear upon the soul, transgression is our own act. It is not in the power of earth or hell to compel any one to sin. The will must consent, the heart must yield, or passion cannot overbear reason, nor iniquity triumph over righteousness. Mar 225.5
If you will stand under the bloodstained banner of Prince Emmanuel, faithfully doing His service, you need never yield to temptation; for One stands by your side who is able to keep you from falling. Mar 225.6
We need not retain one sinful propensity.... [Ephesians 2:1-6 quoted.] ... Mar 225.7
As we partake of the divine nature, hereditary and cultivated tendencies to wrong are cut away from the character, and we are made a living power for good. Ever learning of the divine Teacher, daily partaking of His nature, we cooperate with God in overcoming Satan’s temptations. God works, and man works, that man may be one with Christ as Christ is one with God. Then we sit together with Christ in heavenly places. The mind rests with peace and assurance in Jesus. Mar 225.8
