I was having a conversation with film analyst, Karen D. (The Movie Maven), and she mentioned flipping channels on her tv one night and catching the end of the first "Rocky" movie. As a result we've decided to have our "Focus Hollywood" segment be devoted to "Boxing In Film". Now boxing in movies didn't start with the Sylvester Stallone's film "Rocky" , but it does play a part in the vast history of boxing in cinema. So, our task is to introduce you to a few films you may not have heard of, and re-introduce you to some movies you may want to revisit again. Please take some time out to come and listen to our broadcast, and find your inner fighting spirit with "Boxing In Film".

arraignment.. black film & tv on trial!!
Thirty years ago, The Cosby Show dominated the airwaves. The Huxtables were upper middle class, wholesome and fun. The show was ripped up by some, however, for not being "believable." Fast forward three decades, and now Empire is the new hit show with blacks. Once again, it's being ripped up for being "unbelievable." What makes for good, true, believable entertainment in the black community? Who represents the Black community best? Cosby? Empire? Martin? Blackish? Who is it? Let's talk about it this Sunday: in The Barbershop!
