I could not let this day go by without paying tribute to our American Veterans. I am married to a Vietnam Vet that has been my strength for 17 years now. He is my all and all, and I came to know the American Veteran in a most personal way. Hear my account of what I see our Veterans as. They are very special people. Not everyone can give their lives up for our country, the American Vet has a heart and a love for America.
Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001) was an American singer, dancer, actress, and model. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of 10, she appeared on the television show Star Search and performed in concert alongside Gladys Knight. At age 12, Aaliyah signed with Jive Records and her uncle Barry Hankerson's Blackground Records. After Hankerson signed a distribution deal with Jive Records, he signed Aaliyah to his Blackground Records label at the age of 12. Hankerson later introduced her to recording artist and producer R. Kelly, who became Aaliyah's mentor, as well as lead songwriter and producer of the album, which was recorded when she was 14. With the release of Age Ain't Nothing but a Number, rumors circulated of a relationship between Aaliyah and R. Kelly. Shortly after, there was speculation about a secret marriage with the release of "Age Ain't Nothing but a Number" and the adult content that Kelly had written for Aaliyah. On August 25, 2001, Aaliyah and the eight others on board—pilot Luis Morales III, hair stylist Eric Forman, Anthony Dodd, security guard Scott Gallin, video producer Douglas Kratz, stylist Christopher Maldonado, and Blackground Records employees Keith Wallace and Gina Smith—were all killed. After the service, 22 white doves were released to symbolize each year of Aaliyah's life. Aaliyah was interred in a private room at the end of a corridor in the Rosewood Mausoleum at the Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York. The inscription at the bottom of Aaliyah's portrait at the funeral read: "We Were Given a Queen, We Were Given an Angel."

Interviews, reviews, memories, and sneak peeks with the cast of THE PRYOR EMPIRE: A Richard Pryor Tribute by Timothy John! Official dvd of the stage play coming soon along with an encore performance of the show!
Fifteen years ago actor, writer, director, and producer Timothy John left his hometown of Kansas City to follow his dreams. At the request of the show's executive producer, he gave a breathtaking tribute to Richard Pryor at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, N.Y. now he's set to relive this tribute for KC audiences!
Almost ten years have passed since Richard Pryor, arguably the greatest comedian ever, lost his battle with multiple sclerosis. Pryor will never lose his position as cultural icon, and we can only hope that a cure to this debilitating disease will soon be found so we don't lose another soul that reaches out and touches as did Pryor and his ability to allow us to experience our reality with the outrageous, profane, and conscience perspective that only he imparted.
“The Pryor Empire” will feature Timothy John as Pryor from his teenage years up until the years of his last breath. He will also bring on Pryor's former wives, closest friends, and his long time fan favorite character, Mudbone.
“The Pryor Empire” is guaranteed to entertain and electrify audiences as if Pryor were still alive.
"I always wanted to star as Richard Pryor in the movie of his life. Post-Jo Jo Dancer, his complete biopic. No one's called about the movie yet, so I decided to do this one-man show in honor of the man I looked up to and give back to his family, his struggle, and his legacy.” -Timothy John

On November 9, 2014 the Body of Christ suffered a devastating blow as the news that our General of Purpose, Brother in Christ and Spiritual Mentor Dr. Myles Munroe along with his precious wife Ruth and seven other devoted family members and friends left their temporary dwelling to be forever with The Lord. For many of us, the news was surreal and our hearts stood still for a moment as if somehow, our ears and eyes were testing us. The reality that a man who's life was dedicated no, "mandated" to fulfill his purpose in helping others to discover theirs, had completed his assignment and had passed the baton to those of us who were to follow.
We will be celebrating the life of Dr. Munroe on this special tribute broadcast. Join us and call in @ (914) 803-4491 and press (1) to comment or join in the live chat. Visit our website and view the "Celebrating the Life of Dr. Myles Munroe" page created for Dr. Munroe. Feel free to invite others and share. You are welcome!
In 1970 Albert Murray proclaimed, US culture was "incontestably mulatto." In 1973, Murray wrote about "The Dynamics of Heroic Action" and in 1974, with the introduction of Scooter (the protagonist of Train Whistle Guitar), Murray gave readers the blues-based adventures of a brown-faced hero. In August 2013, Albert Murray joined the celestial ensemble. On today's Trading Fours, former Murray students: Paul Devlin, Roberta Maguire, Greg Thomas, Lauren Walsh and Jackie Modeste re-member Murray and his legacy. Join us for an historic gathering of Murrayites and "Get in on the rhythm."
