SHOW NOTES: In our JOYFUL ART OF BUSINESS™ series we explore how to combine the positive benefits of our professional endeavors (“business”) with the overall positive emotional return on our efforts (“joy”). The act of engaging in professional endeavors, in any capacity (i.e., as an employee, employer, entrepreneur, contractor, volunteer, paid, full time, part time, intermittently, etc.) is an expression of our ideas and creative talents (“art”).
In this episode our topic is, “The Real Reason You Can’t Have It All Is…”
So, let’s get right to ‘the answer’!
A) You don’t want ‘it all.’
B) ‘It All’ doesn’t exist.
There are many public discussions that are gender focused regarding the general concept of working outside of a family and unit and contemporaneously working inside of a family unit. The stereotype is that a female is not able to work outside a family unit while working inside of one (and that their work and family will both suffer due to the lack of time and attention). For males the stereotype is that they are not able to work outside the family unit while working inside of one (and that their family unit will suffer due to the lack of time and attention while they prioritize their outside work). There is guilt, shame and regret for males and females in their pursuit of an unattainable fiction ('it all').

Madamwhipass once again puts down some serious words with LanceScurv on the division between the youth and our Elders as well as the blatant disrespect that's so common today.
The words that flowed through our Sister were hard hitting yet very mandatory to absorb if we are to ever get ourselves back on track as a people who are mighty beyond measure if we ever wake up from the madness.
No one can disagree that as a community we are in trouble and it's these types of conversations that we must have if we intend on being much more than a forgotten footnote in history.
Please share your thoughts, opinions and comments for all to ponder and for us to continue this very important dialogue.

Television, a medium of communication. Television was not invented by a single inventor, instead many people working together and alone over the years, contributed to the evolution of television.
The 'first' generation of television sets were not entirely electronic. The display (TV screen) had a small motor with a spinning disc and a neon lamp, which worked together to give a blurry reddish-orange picture about half the size of a business card! The period before 1935 is called the "Mechanical Television Era". This type of television is not compatible with today's fully-electronic television system.
Join Young Media Critics host Juanita Richburg Seon and her young associate Erika Shoemaker as they explore the medium "Television" on this week's "I'll Have a Medium, Please - Television!
