Tips for hosting a fun and affordable Friendsgiving. Also, helping folks with no place to go for the holidays
Have you thought about why humans own puppies? Have you thought about why people have children? What is the purpose of life, anyway? What is puppy love? What is friendship love, what is romantic-love? How do you get the feelings associated with love. What is love? Where does love come from?
Do you long for the peace that is associated with a lasting loving relationship? Do you yearn for more than a dry kiss? Do you want a big smack on your lips when you get home from work? Not a kiss from the puppy, but, from a human being who cares about what you do to be of value? Well, let's talk about love today!

Alan C. Fox, one of the most powerful voices in personal growth, joins Bonnie to discuss his latest book, PEOPLE TOOLS FOR LOVE AND RELATIONSHIPS. People Tools strategies provide straightforward solutions to help solve anyone's relationship problems. People Tools keep Alan's 30+ year marriage happy and vital.
Do you often have the same argument with your partner, going around and around in circles? While most experts say you need better communication, Alan says it may be better to disconnect. Stop talking about the issue. “Your argument will never be resolved until one of you changes your position,” he explains. Cool off and reflect on the situation.
Another example: According to the Catch Them Being Better People Tool, instead of telling your partner what you dislike, PRAISE them for the actions you really appreciate. Result: He or she will focus on doing those praise-worthy things, with less emphasis on the stuff you don’t like.
Whether you’re looking for your (next) significant other, in a dating relationship, or married, Alan’s wisdom can help solve many of the relationship problems you face.
Speak with Alan on-air: Call (310) 807-5219 with a relationship question between 7:15 – 7:40 PM/Eastern. Please do not call from a private or hidden phone #.

Topic: Suicide has reached such epidemic proportions that we all know someone affected by suicide – and we all have a part to play in reaching out to save lives.
The epidemic: The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates 800,000 people die by suicide each year – more than annual deaths due to war and homicide combined. Our expert: Adele McDowell, Ph.D is a practicing psychotherapist and former crisis hot-line responder, with 30+ years of experience helping people find hope and balance in the face of crisis, trauma and grief. She is the author of Making Peace with Suicide: A Book of Hope, Understanding, and Comfort (White Flowers Press, 2015). "Reaching out to anyone who feels disconnected or is struggling can be a life-saving act."
On READ MY LIPS today: Dr. McDowell will discuss…
Suicide risk factors and how to spot them
Fact or Myth: More suicides occur around Christmas? Women are more prone than men?
Ways to engage non-judgmentally with someone who needs support
Where to find professional services and ensure appropriate care
The role you as an individual, our communities and society play in responding to the epidemic
Dr. McDowell's book speaks to everyone who has lost a loved one to suicide, anyone who is considering committing suicide, and those who work with or counsel the bereaved and suicidal.
