He fought the best and made some of those best look like armatures…many thought that he was just mouth, but he proved them all wrong. Many say he is a copy of Muhammad Ali. His style, speed, flamboyance, good looks, and lets not forget his mouth.. Those that know Hector know of his kind unselfish ways. A man that loves his family, and works hard in becoming a better person each day..over 40 now, and still looking for a good fight. I have always had a tremendous amount of respect, and admiration for Hector Camacho “The Macho Man” that has not faded.. I saw him rise to the top, I saw him knock out the best, and saw him at his best, and worst of times.. He comes from the same town in Puerto Rico  as I did, (Bayamom) and raised in the same streets l did Spanish Harlem. (El Barrio) A flamboyant  Three Time World Champion that never pulled a much, or word …What you see is what you get with Hector Camacho.  Boxing was not as fair to him as he deserved, but he overshadow most of it because whatever he got…he earned, and a legend was born… Come and join us as we chat with the Macho Man… Join me May 21st at 7:00 PM E.S.T on Sindo Radio..live.. IT’S MACHO TIME..

A Journey To Discover My Ghanaian Roots with Carol Hector-Harris

    in History

Many Americans of African descent have thought that connecting with their African kin was next to impossible, yet Carol Hector-Harris has done just that. Not only did she visit Ghana but she also met relatives. She is the fifth great-granddaughter of Africa-born Quock Martrick, who served in the Revolutionary War with George Washington in New York. She found Martrick's family, HER FAMILY, in Big Ada, Ghana. She also met members of her ethnic group, the Ga-Adangbe (the African lineage she discovered through DNA testing), which includes Sangmorkie Tetteh, who is with Carol in the photo.

Carol Hector-Harris earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Master of Arts in Political Science from The Ohio State University. Currently she is working toward a Ph.D. at Ohio University’s Scripps College of Communication. An eleventh generation Bostonian, she lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband, two sons, and eight grandchildren. Ms. Hector-Harris serves as the librarian for a Columbus Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
