    Setting Rules and Boundaries

Our guest tonight Deborah L. Tillman is Parent Educator, Speaker, Author, Founder and CEO of Happy Home Child Learning Centers, Inc., located in Northern Virginia and “America’s Supernanny” on Lifetime Television.

Labeled “A Force for Good” by the Washington Post, Tillman has a deep passion for children.  Her mission is to transform parents and encourage them to be the best they can be.  Tillman believes that “schools and educator’s should not have to do for children what we as parents were created to do”.  Tillman says, “It is not about making a child; it is about raising a child”.  Deborah L. Tillman is America’s most authentic and powerful voice for parents and is not afraid to be open and honest with them.  Her no nonsense yet, loving approach landed her the role as “America’s Supernanny” on Lifetime Television.  Tillman holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from George Washington University and is currently seeking her Doctorate.  She began her career over a decade ago when she became frustrated with the lack of quality childcare her son was receiving. So she quit her very lucrative accounting job and started her own school in 1994.

Deborah Tillman has been a recurring Parenting guest on the Steve Harvey Television show.  She has also been seen on the View, Today Show, Katie Show, Home and Family Network, Wendy Williams and CNN to name a few.  Tillman has also been featured in Essence Magazine, Jet, Ebony, Northern Virginia, Washington Woman and Parent Magazines.  Tillman has contributed articles to Gospel Today and Jet and Ebony magazines.

The Black Family Show with T. Cook

    in Family

Our basic format and structure is from a black male centered discussion, but we welcome female guest and bloggers input. We feel the need to fill the void in the family discussed from a male centered viewpoint.

This show explores and addresses the disparaging rates of decline of the Black Family today and historically.

We will address the Incarceration rates through the Prison Pipeline. We welcome the victims of this system to call-in. ie... Inmates or the offspring of the inmates and the mates of these so-called offenders.

We will address the so called dead beat dads and why has the system stereotyped most black men into this definition and labeled them such.

We address the changing state of affairs with the global economic fluctuations and how it directly negatively impacts the black family.

We will also present the positive aspects of the Black family today from marriages to successful dating and successful parenting from conventional multiple parent homes to successful sinlge parent setup.

We will also discuss how the childsupport works and what it expects from us as males and what the child needs and the female mother of the child needs and how we can bridge the gap as men.

We will have deep spiritual discussions as it relates to our historic role as male role models through our historic and traditional spirituality and how we can lead our families from it.
