    Devon Grant - PA Gov. Cabinet & Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities

    Join us for a conversation with Devon Grant, Executive Director, of the Pennsylvania Governor’s Cabinet and Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities. This cabinet exists to make recommendations to the Governor on policies, procedure regulations and legislation that assist people with disabilities in Pennsylvania, serves as a liaison to individuals with disabilities, and as a resource to entities under the Governor’s jurisdiction, ensuring equality for people with disabilities in all facets of state government within the commonwealth.


    Devon holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Wheaton College in Illinois, and a Juris Doctor from Western State University, College of Law, in Fullerton, California. Prior to his appointment to his current position, Devon spent almost 10 years in the Reconsideration Unit of the Department of Public Welfare. 


    Some of his adventures include riding cross country on a motorcycle, climbing Mt. Fuji in Japan, and skiing in the Alps. Devon lives in Palmyra, with his wife and 3 children.

    Futures Planning with Dolores Frantz

    Navigating the Longing to Belong with Toko-pa

    Sometimes called a midwife of the psyche, Toko-pa has been working with dreams for over 15 years. Greatly influenced by the work of Jung, her own approach to dreamwork is grounded in the mystical tradition of Sufism in which she was raised. In 2001, she founded the Dream School from which hundreds of students have now graduated.  Toko-pa has been interviewed by CNN News and BBC Radio and has over 40,000 online followers on her beloved Facebook page 'Dreamwork with Toko-pa'. In her private dreamwork practice, she works with healing personal & ancestral trauma, reconciling paradox, and facilitates sacred grief & ritual practice.     PA Initiative on Assistive Technology with Sandra McNally

    Join The Arc of Luzerne County for a conversation about Pennsylvania's Initiative on Assistive Technology (PIAT), with Sandra McNally, Assistant Director, Community Services at the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University. She is Program Director for PIAT, and coordinates other funded statewide assistive technology activities, including the Telecommunication Device Distribution Program (TDDP) and iCanConnectPA. Sandi is a parent of two children with disabilities, and holds a Master’s Degree from Temple University. 


    PIAT leads the Commonwealth's efforts to implement the provisions of the federal Assistive Technology Act of 1998, as amended, and strives to enhance the lives of all Pennsylvanians with disabilities, older Pennsylvanians, and their families, through access to and acquisition of assistive technology devices and services, which allow for choice, control and independence at home, work, school, play, and in their neighborhoods.

    Access to Higher Education for Students with Disabilities with Koert Wehberg

    Join us for a conversation with Koert Wehberg, Staff Attorney at Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania, about the right for students with disabilities to receive appropriate supports in post-secondary education, and school districts to provide the necessary transition services so that they are prepared for the challenges of a world that extends beyond the brick walls of their high schools.

    Koert received his law degree from the Syracuse University College of Law in 2008 with a certificate in Disability Law and Policy. He was the recipient of a prestigious two-year Equal Justice Works Fellowship after law school, allowing him to represent low-income people of color with disabilities in general accessibility, fair housing and employment discrimination matters in New York City at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI).  Koert stayed at NYLPI as a staff attorney through 2011 when he then joined the Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania where he represents children with disabilities in special education and other discrimination matters.
