Join Alan Zlotorzynski and Stephen Shoup for two hours of baseball talk on THE MBL SHOW, presented by Fanspeak.COM
Tonight, the guys take a break from the NFL to discuss the happenings in Major League Baseball. They breakdown the news and notes from around the diamond from the past week. They will recap the month of April and hand out their monthly awards, which include April’s MVP-CY YOUNG-& R.O.Y.
Alan and Steve will have the Fanspeak Top 10 MLB Power poll as well as all of the stats Elias has to dish out.
The guys will then turn their attention to the local teams as they recap the past month for the Orioles and Nationals. Alan & Steve will breakdown the Braves and Nationals recent matchups and give you an update on Bryce Harpers injury, suffered today in the Nats 2-0 win.
The focus then turns to Dem O’s, as Alan and Steve breakdown the Orioles lineup and starting rotation performances in April.
Showtime is 9:00 p.m. and will run for two hours.

Black Abolitionists Book- John Brown Raid & Civil War
Mary, Free, Educated & A Spy! Disguise... Confederate White House Slave Mary was the best as she was working right in The Confederate President's home. She had a photographic mind. Everything Mary saw on the Rebel President’s desk she could repeat word for word. “Ellen Bond” was neither dim-witted, illiterate, nor a slave. In reality she was a free, well educated African American woman by the name of Mary Elizabeth Bowser. And she was a Union spy working right under Confederate President Jefferson Davis’s nose.
For months during the most crucial period of the Civil War, as General Ulysses S. Grant maneuvered to capture Richmond, the Confederate capital, Mary supplied critical military intelligence to the Union army. In recognition of her contributions to the Union war effort, she was inducted into the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Hall of Fame in 1995.
Elizabeth was able to arrange for a friend to take Mary with her as a servant to help at social functions held by Varina Davis in the Confederate White House. Mary performed her servant role so well she was eventually taken on full time as, presumably, a slave hired out by her master.

Historical integrated College -Racist events, Kim Simmons
Oberlin College In 1835 became the first predominately white collegiate institution to admit African American male students and two years later it opened its doors to all women, becoming the first coeducational college in the country. In 1862, Mary J Patterson earned a B.A. becoming the first African American woman to earn a degree from an American college. Other black women had graduated earlier but did not receive the collegiate degree (BA). As part of the Underground Railroad, Oberlin’s intricate network of back road routes and safe houses, the college and town provided refuge for fugitive slaves bound for Canada. In 1858, students, faculty, and residents of Oberlin and nearby Wellington, Ohio rescued a runaway slave John Price from U.S. marshals, and transported him to freedom in Canada. One year later three African American residents of the town of Oberlin, Shields Green, Lewis Sheridan Leary, and John Anthony Copeland, participated in John Brown's Raid on Harpers Ferry.
Unfortunately recently, Classes were canceled after a report of someone wearing what looked like a Ku Klux Klan-type hooded robe on campus. A police report has also detailed the defacement of Black History Month posters with the N-word, a "whites only" sign written above a water fountain, a swastika drawn on a science center window and a student knocked to the ground by a person making a derogatory comment about ethnicity. Two students are being investigated for possible involvement in the graffiti.

Joy Keys chats with Shoe Designer & Philanthropist Etu Evans
Etu Evans, shoe designer to the stars, is a creator of bespoke footwear that seemingly makes clothes optional. Evans has been hailed by Footwear News as the prince of luxe footwear and the new media darling by FashionWindows.com..
Evans is 4.0 graduate of Columbia University with a degree in Applied Behavioral Science and a Cum Laude graduate of South Carolina State University. He pursued his creative studies in continuing education at The Parsons School of Design, as well as in footwear and accessories with an associate degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology; both located in NYC.
In 1993, Etu Evans established his LLC, designing millinery and jewelry and has since expanded to included footwear and accessories. The beguiling creations of Etu Evans have captured the attention of Ducatti, Parisian fashionistas and publications such as German Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Spanish Marie Claire, Essence, GQ, In Style (UK), Women’s Wear Daily, Ebony (30 Leaders of the Future), and Black Enterprise.
In 1998, the gifted and enigmatic intellectual founded the Solesville Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people get on their feet through shoe and toy drive distributions, and pediatric AIDS prevention and awareness. Solesville is committed to its motto, “ Saving soles one step at a time.” Solesville donates shoes to Africa, South America, the Caribbean and The United States to prevent infectious diseases acquired through foot lesions.
Mr. Evans also founded the Etu The Purple Boot initiative, a scientifically CABAS based mentoring, fatherhood initiative, and leadership case study for boys’ ages 7-11 in Harlem and Westchester, NY, Maryland, Atlanta and South Carolina. www.etuevans.org
