    Street Harassment vs Approaching Women

    in Culture

There is a new campaign that many women are jumping behind. One that focuses on when men go over the line when approaching a woman. Some guys feel that if legislation gets passed on street harassment,  it can lead to women using the law to get men locked up just for saying hi, just because she was in a bad mood.

There's some validity to why there's a big fuss,  but can this escalate into something detrimental to men and women interacting with one another?

And to the ladies, what harassment have they faced that would constitute for such actions?

Norfolk Public Schools and sexual harassment of students

    in News

Education reporter Cherise M. Newsome joins Pilot Radio to discuss a federal investigation that found Norfolk Public Schools negligent in handling complaints in middle and high schools about sexual harassment and treatment of students with disabilities. Newsome was first to break the story about the investigation, which concluded earlier this year. School leaders heard about the results in May, but not the general public. The Pilot published her story Sept. 27 after Newsome obtained a copy of the report from the U.S. Education Department's Office for Civil Rights. On Sunday, The Pilot is scheduled to publish Newsome’s exclusive interview with the family that spurred the investigation.

STOP Telling Women How To Feel About Street Harassment!

    in Current Events

Should men tell women how they should feel about street harassment? Shoshana B Roberts was filmed walking the streets of New York City, enduring unsolicited catcalls in the course of a single day. There are so many issues with this story. Why did they edit out everyone except Black and Latino men? Where in NY was she walking? Did her outfit have anything to do with the catcalls? If women aren't dressed appropriately, are they asking for attention? Can you even call that harassment? Is this more about classism than it is about sexism?

We will ::ANSWER:: these questions and more on this episode of the ::ANSWERS:: show — with Joe Paul, A.J. Miller, Arkay Evans and Jackson Bracey.

Employment Discrimination or Harassment: Education and Training

    in Business

Join us today on Women Leading the Way Radio as Cecile Bereal your host of Serving Up Diversity, interviews Chris Olmsted, Shareholder/Employment Law and Litigation at Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, PC.

Today we will ask Chris about employment discrimination and harassment. Currently, California employers with 50 or more employers are required to provide harassment prevention training to supervisors. Under this new law, this training must also include training and education on the prevention of ‘abusive conduct’ or bullying.

Mr. Olmsted regularly consults with clients regarding employment law compliance, and also provides training to management and staff, as well as other attorneys.

The G-Spot w. Meka Rae-Do Women Get a Pass in Sexual Harassment?

    in Women

    Hi Bedroom Playmates!

On this episode of The G-Spot w. Meka Rae we are discussing Sexual Harassment by Women!

Sexual Harassment: Is it still considered sexual harassment when a woman (hetero or lesbian) slaps us on the ass, grabs our breast, catcalls us, etc? Why or why not? Is it less offensive when a woman is talking vulgar compared to a man? What about when a female harasses a male? Is it considered sexual harassment when a female gives unwanted attention to a man?

    In addition...

Some women tend to take compliments from a woman quicker than they will accept them from a man. Why is this? Is it more believable to hear that you are beautiful from another woman than it is from a man? Is so, why? Is it because of the standards of beauty that are acceptable in society?

Join us for this lively discussion...

Obama is the "most racist racist president there has ever been in America," a Washington philanthropist and history buff pledges ro rebuild the slave quarters that were once occupied on President James Madison's Montpelier estate (c'mon Ben and Obama is the racist?  Really?); a recent NCAA legal ruling will allow famed little leaguer, Mo'ne Davis to profit on her likeness; a teacher confesses to a student that her "bucket list" would include killing Black people; and lastly, in turnabout is fair play news-did FLOTUS say to Black voters that they can reward themselves with fried chicken after they vote Democratic during the mid term elections?  Could a Black Conservative get away with that?
