Episode 52: As we talk about ENTITLEMENTS we'll start off with two thoughts - 1) Who is entitled? and 2) Who governs the qualifications? But wait - don't we have to have the conversation about the difference between an ENTITLEMENT and a HANDOUT? We think so.

Tonight on P1FD . . .
Thanks for the Handouts America! Best Regards from the 1%.
Many politicians claim that the vast majority of subsidies are going to the entrepreneurs, who are often cited as the ‘job creators’. However, according to a study just released by taxpayer watchdog group Good Jobs First, the lion’s share of subsidy dollars are actually given to established, highly profitable corporations -- a.k.a. Big Donors. In fact, 75% of all state and local subsidies are going to just 965 major companies. At the same time, these One-Percenters are staging hostile takeovers of the ruling parties, demanding a bigger voice in the crafting of policies and strategies.
So here’s our question to SCOTUS: How CAN’T you see this as the quid pro quo behavior you said was necessary to prove money’s corrupting influence on government? This denial of fact has already led to the abhorrent Citizens United decision; and it may well be the basis for a calamitous outcome in McCutcheon v. FEC. When are we, The People going to demand justice?
NWP welcomes Survivor fan favorite Rupert Boneham!
With his trademark long beard, tie-dyed shirt, and signature victory cry, Rupert is considered by fans to be one of the show's most popular castaways. Rupert is one of the only two contestants to compete 4 times on Survivor. He is also the only contestant to win $1,000,000 via public vote.
In 2004, after working in the Mental Health Field for over 20 years, Rupert founded Rupert’s Kids, a non-profit organization that provides mentoring, vocational training and job placement to young ex-offenders. When he won the million dollar prize for Survivor fan favorite that same year, he donated $177,000 to his community, plus $100,000 to fund Rupert’s Kids. Taking no government handouts, Rupert’s Kids has shown how Corporate America and private donors can support a charitable program and build a better community for us all. http://rupertskids.org

Experiencing the healing and benefits of pure therapeutic essential oils is an important addition to every family's health journey.
Understanding how these plant-based, natural powerhouses work will help every concerned mom or dad develop safe and effective routines to keep their family strong and able to navigate common health challenges (for example, allergies and cold and flu season).
Sharing success stories helps friends and neighbors begin to build their own “essential oil tool kit” that empowers their family’s healthcare choices.
In these audio recordings I will share my own family’s experiences with essential oils and answer some common questions such as:
What ARE essential oils?
How do I use the oils when I get some?
Which oils are the best for me to start with?
Does it matter where I buy them? (the answer is “Yes!” and I will explain why!)
There is so much information out there – what information should I trust?
Information shared on the audio recordings and handouts is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or take the place of treatment protocols recommended by your doctor or other professional healthcare providors. Specific questions about medical matters must be taken to your doctor or other professional health provider. Products have not been evaluated by the FDA.
Join us to talk about the issues in the black community for the 2nd part of this series.
Selling In A Skirt With Judy Hoberman with her guest Mara Glazer & Shannon Hrobak Sennefelder
Somehow in 2009, I convinced my dad, Bill Glazer, to allow me to work for him at the company he founded, Glazer-Kennedy Insider’s Circle (a company he built into the world’s largest provider of marketing and money-making information to small business owners around the globe).
Some say he’s a legend. (To me, he’s just my Pops!) Some say I’m part of the lucky sperm club! (But if you know me, you know I worked damn hard to be where I am today! No handouts. No hall passes. I had to earn my spot!) He gave me one job: figure out how to make money with social media, OR I was out! (At the time, I didn’t even know what social media was.)
Soon after, I ventured out on my own and launched Mara Glazer Cut The Crap Business Coaching (the website you are on right now) and my newest venture, Best Damn Biz Team (formerly known as Mara Glazer Media Works), which you can find out more about at www.BestDamnBizTeam.com.

Part 2 of 3: Originally Aired February 12, 2012
Dianne Linderman speaks with a caller about bringing a new idea to market – from the patenting process to marketing.
Another caller brings up a point about people having an “expecting” mentality – they expect free things from the government and don't rely on themselves anymore. Are politicians “buying” votes by offering free money through social programs? Listen up to get Dianne's take on the subject.
