Urban Therapy with Sun #118 Guns Or No Guns With Brother Mac Of L.O.A.N

    in Lifestyle

Some people say that there is no reason to ever own a handgun. Others say that handguns are necessary to protect yourself from criminals that own handguns. It seems that much of the controversy is centered around handguns but not rifles but is that the way that it always was?

This week we will have Brother Mac of The Legacy of a Nation Show as our guest. Brother Mac is a former Green Beret of the U.S. Army and an Army medic.
We will discuss some of the ways that guns have affected our society from a Black perspective and how it came to be that crimes with guns in Black neighborhoods have become the focal point for gun control.

Do we deserve to be targeted? Should we be held responsible for most of the gun laws that have been implemented by legislation?

Are penalties for gun crimes more harsh for Blacks than they are for other ethnic groups?
What about spree killings and mass murders? How do we fare with those crimes compared to other ethnic groups?

Are you afraid of guns and should you be?
What should be the factors that would influence a person to purchase a gun?

Who is able to purchase and own guns?

Are guns the best means for the protection of your family? What are some other options?

What would this world be like if there were no more guns? What was it like before there were guns?

Be sure to check this show out as we discuss these things as well as many other issues concerning how to protect ourselves whether it's by guns or not.

TX HB195 Handgun Carry Bill; Jason Orsek CATI; Economic Collapse Update

    in Education

Welcome back everyone! My apologies for last week’s technical issues and last night's lack of show. We are working on some things on our end and hope that we can iron them out and return to our normal schedule soon. If all goes well tonight, we will be talking about TX HB 195: Summary: Relating to the carrying of handguns; providing for the open carrying of handguns; removing the requirement that a person who may lawfully possess handguns obtain a Concealed Handgun License in order to carry a handgun lawfully in the state of Texas, and conforming changes.

We also are planning to talk to Jason Orsek, the VP of Come And Take It (CATI) regarding non-legislative enforcement barring Texans from carrying firearms on the Capitol grounds. Organizations like CATI are on the front lines of the fight against Tyrannical abuses of power by state governments and agencies in TX and around the country.

Who are "la Raza"? . . . And why are they running our immigration enforcement?

    in Politics

This entire administration and the Democrat party are holding fire-sale's to the cheapest bidder to help them bring this country down.  What this administration has done, just to the preamble of the Constitution is enough to impeach right there.  This admin. has failed to provide for the common defense of the nation as well as failing to promote the general welfare of this nation.

This admin. appeases to all of our enemies by setting free their prisoners, facilitates the tranfers of heavy weaponry into their hands, while removing handguns from American citizens.  He has lied, cheated, re-written, on-the-fly, every law he has been sworn to uphold and faithfully execute.

Now we are being over run by illegal immigrants, flooding our towns, endangering the lives of ALL Americans.  This is not only a public safety issue but a national security issue.  The time to impeach is now!

Their plan is working perfectly.  We need to interupt that plan.  And a good start happened last night in VA.  Maybe this could be the start of something wonderful, who knows.  Eric Cantor, the one who met with groups organized to discredit and attack the Tea-Party.

So, I say, good ridence.  Maybe there is a little hope for VA yet.  Now, lets see what you got in the general election!

Tune in every weekday at 8pm to hear The Captain unlock his treasure chest of opinions and ideas, facing all matters of Constitutional Freedom.

The ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW - David Codrea

    in Politics Conservative

David Codrea has long been a valiant defender of our right to bear arms guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment.  He was the keynote speaker for Connecticut Citizens Defense League at their April 5, rally in Hartford at the State Capitol.

David has been writing professionally on the subject of the right to keep and bear arms since 1999, initially for GUNS & AMMO magazine, then on to HANDGUNS, and for the last eight years at GUNS, where he is field editor producing the monthly “Rights Watch” column.

The NYT blog selected him as a panelist to discuss the Virginia Tech shootings, and he has been written about in the NYT, AP, The Arizona Republic, WorldNetDaily, BuzzFeed, the Romanian newspaper Adevarul, and the science journal Nature.

Blogging at The War on Guns: Notes from the Resistance and writing the National Gun Rights Examiner column, Codrea is a frequent guest on national and major market radio and television programs, most recently on Lou Dobbs Tonight. He is a weekly contributor to the nationally-syndicated Armed American Radio, and was a featured speaker at the 2010 2nd Amendment March in Wash. D.C. and the Georgia Carry Annual Convention Keynote Speaker in 2012.

Codrea was named Gun Rights Defender of the Month, April, 2007 by "Citizens Cmte for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms" for persuading the Bush Admin. to strike “collective rights” language from the Fed. Register in an FAA ruling. In 2011, he was named “Journalist of the Year” by the 2nd Amendment Foundation for his groundbreaking work exposing the “Fast and Furious” ATF “gunwalking” scandal, and was a co-recipient of Soldier of Fortune Magazine’s “2nd Amendment Freedom Fighter Award,” and Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership’s “David and Goliath Award” for his work on that story.

What constitutes an arsenal, and what's excessive ammo?

    in Politics Conservative

Did you see HLN's Nancy Grace get all goofy over George Zimmerman's alleged arsenal? Three handguns, a rifle and a shotgun. And a whopping 100 rounds of ammo. Why don't we talk about what constitutes an arsenal?

We'll also discuss America's growing constitutional crisis. And note that it's finally getting some airplay in decidedly left-leaning circles.

Internationally things are heating up. There's a Russian spy ship docked in Havana, and Putin's put forces on alert near the Ukraine.

And Obama's sending signals he may want a full withdrawal from Afghanistan by year's end.

Plenty more to talk about on Friday's show. Bring us a topic by chat or phone call if you like.

2014 continues to be a year packed with unpredicatablity. Especially to those who haven't been connecting the dots of recent history.

    Permit to Carry in NJ

    in Politics Conservative

After the tragic murder and carjacking of Dustin Friedman right before Christmas at the Short Hills Mall in NJ, many are starting to question NJ laws gun controls, which are some of the strictest in the country and questioning whether these strict gun control laws may actually be putting more citizens at risk, while having little affect on crime.

While NJ residents can apply for Permit to Carry Handgun, the large majority is denied because they cannot prove justifiable need.  The ability to carry a handgun for self-defense is extremely important, but no less important than the right to possess your legally owned handguns while traveling.

Frank Fiamingo, President of NJ Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS) joins us to discuss the issue of conceal carry in NJ and the "friend of the Court" brief filed by the NJ2AS filed on October 1, 2013 challenging New Jersey's "justifiable need" requirement to obtain a Permit to Carry a Handgun.  The Plaintiff, Richard Pantano, is being represented by Evan Nappen, noted civil rights attorney and close friend and supporter of NJ2AS.

Will Permit to Carry be a reality in NJ,  and will law abiding citizens be able to exercise their right to not only defend themselves outside the home but to lawfully carry their handgun outside their home?

HEALING From Violence in Our Schools -Rerun

    in Education

During this holiday season, the staff of White Apple Institute  joins the many families and friends in their grief and celebration of life for the innocent lives lost to random shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary, Columbine, Virginia Tech, Arapahoe and so many more. Also, let us not forget the victims of gang violence in urban area schools whether the tragedy is caused by automatic or single-shot handguns.

Healing, both physical and psychological healing is a process of restoring a situation to a balanced or functioning state. The emotional scars in the healing process are usually seen or felt long after the traumatic situation or damage is over. Repairing or restoring our mental/emotional state is far more challenging than fixing the physical wounds.  Psychological healing from the shootings at schools in urban, suburban or rural areas is a tremendous challenge for concerned citizens of America and the world.  The Student2teacher show has always focused on topics that will help students and teachers succeed in school/college and work, even with mental and physical disabilities.

    The Shepherd School

    in Prepping

Ask 10 Preppers their food storage plans (how rude….) and you will get 11 answers. Today I am going to talk about my base food storage plan and why it is best for my family’s situation. I needed something that was shelf stable long term as I am not panic buying because I believe a disaster will come next week – but rather I am hedging my bets just in case. I needed something easy to store so it did not get overly confusing to my wife

I needed something cheap – because in a fight between might need later and need diapers now – diapers win…

I did not need to worry about:

Food that was particularly easy to cook

    Compact size

    Food allergies

    Low water/pre-cooked

This narrowed down my search, and once I determined my food storage strategy, I was able to spend some time finding cheaper sources of supply.

Click here for the basal metabolic calculator (mentioned in podcast)

You can find several articles on my www.tngun.com website discussing how to prepare the foods mentioned for long-term storage – just use the search function, or click the food and water link under “Categories”.
