    Digestive problems
    Being overweight
    Fatigue

    Spirit Psychology 101

    in Spirituality

It feels so great to be able to do this show again! I almost feel like it's mostly for me just to have fun! lol But no, in my next show I will be talking about the psychology behind Spirit and what scientists have been trying to do with Spirit to understand how it works and what it does. As a member of the Forever Family Foundation, it is our mission to bridge science with mediumship to offering healing to the bereaved- while most of my callers are not in any serious life situations that require immediate attention, many of the personal readings I do in my Private Office deal with such things. This is why it is imprtant to have a Fundamental Understanding about what is going on in the background- and not just people enjoing my funny jokes inbetween new pieces of evidence. :P As always, make sure to call in for a chance to get a free mini-reading! See you soon on the show!

    Differences, Bullying, and Sturge-Weber Syndrome

    in Health

Karen Ball, CEO of the Sturge-Weber Foundation, speaks with Joyce about Sturge-Weber syndrome (SWS) and the challenges faced by people with this condition.  The Sturge-Weber Foundation provides support and services for individuals with Sturge-Weber syndrome, Port Wine Stain Birthmarks, and Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome.

Sturge-Weber Syndrome (encephelotrigeminal angiomatosis) is a congenital, non-familial disorder of unknown incidence and cause. It is characterized by a congenital facial birthmark and neurological abnormalities. Other symptoms associated with Sturge-Weber can include eye and internal organ irregularities. Each case of Sturge-Weber Syndrome is unique and exhibits the characterizing findings to varying degrees.

Because of the physical differences that people with SWS often have, they are frequently the object of rude or bullying behaviors.  Sturge-Weber Foundation has taken up this challenge on behalf of all those with differences in their BullyBeGone Challenge.

Radio Show: Gut Smart Gene Smart Diet: An Interview with Donna Gates

    in Health

When it comes to choosing what to eat, the literature is fraught with confusing research, statistics, and recommendations. Proponents of a variety of diet "religions" purport to have the perfect diet for all of human kind. Studies contradict themselves, and hot-under-the-collar debates separate diet factions. Confusion and overwhelm abounds, and, for many, it results in just giving up and eating what tastes good.

But what if instead of following a particular diet religion, you could based on factors in your genetics, and make smart food choices based on what's best for your unique biochemistry?

Understanding genetics with relationship to food choices, in a new science called nutrigenomics, is what today's show is all about

Join Dr. Ritamarie and Donna Gates, author of The Body Ecology Diet, and learn:

The impact of your genes on your gut flora
Why the one-size-fits-all diet doesn't work, and how to customize yours based on your genetics
What to do if your vitamin D receptors are suboptimal due to your genetics
The alphabet soup of genes that impact digestion and food effects - NERF-2, FUT, VDR, NAT, TAS1r3, MTHFR and much more
Genes that effect whether you do well or poorly with saturated fats, and when it's most important to eat a plant-based diet based on genetics

70 million people suffer from digestive diseases alone in the US.  Find out from 32 top health experts if your gut is the cause of your issues.  Sign up for The Healthy Gut Summit, a free online event, February 9-16, 2015.

If you would like to delve deep into nutrigenomics, listen to a free Google Hangout that Dr. Ritamarie did in February 2014.

    in Self Help

Denis Waitley was the VERY FIRST Self Improvement author I followed.  I bought "Psychology of Winning" and it helped set my path in the right direction.  Today's show I am sharing part of a LIVE talk he gave several years ago.  Denis Waitley's theories on human potential have made him one of America's most sought-after speakers and best-selling audiocassette program authors. Denis honed his understanding of leadership, discipline and motivation at an early age as a Naval Academy graduate. This background and advanced studies have served him well in his long career as a motivational researcher, counselor, consultant and speaker.

Denis has worked with groups as diverse as medical researchers, top executives, returning POWs and Olympic athletes. The focus of his work has always been on helping people bring out the best in themselves and their organizations.

He is the author of many best selling books, including The Psychology of Winning, Being the Best, Seeds of Greatness, and The New Dynamics of Winning. He is also the author of the best-selling audiocassette programs: The Psychology of Winning, The Inner Winner, The New Dynamics of Winning, Being the Best and The Psychology of Human Motivation. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
