    Snake Oil Radio/Icky Sexuality

    in Spirituality

Host Jim Ventura (professional Navigational consultant - Astrology, Numerology, Runes, Tarot, Animal cards etc...) is the author of two metaphysical books, YouTube videos and does local and Skype seminars and classes on many different metaphysical subjects. Snake Oil is Jim's monthly blog column. Snake Oil radio is a forum for discussion of a wide range of metaphysical subjects with a primary focus on how everyone can learn to fine tune their unique intuitive abilities and skills. Callers may call in toward the end of Jim’s show with questions or comments and some shows include 5 minute free mini navigational consultations (today's show will not get to live calls).
Todays Show live Column read: Icky Sexuality

“...From both a practical and spiritual perspective there have and will always be four primary variations for human sexual expression. The same categories also apply to most animal species. People are either heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, or asexual. For the most part sexual orientation is chosen at a Higher Self level before birth. Inevitably in our reincarnation cycles we will experience all of the variations in different lifetimes as part of our evolution and innate desire to experience the gifts and challenges each variation offers. Heterosexuality and bisexuality are the most common sexual expressions overall.

While bisexuality and homosexuality seems to be growing more commonplace in society, it only seems this way because it is becoming more socially acceptable to express oneself in either category...”

People are often uncomfortable with things they cannot understand. Human sexuality itself is actually not a moral or life choice decision, it is part of our wirin. The struggle with gay marriage, new religious protection laws and many other complicated current issues has more to do with our tendency as human beings to lack empathy for those who are different.

Film, Oil & Water David Poritz & Fair Trade Oil

    in Lifestyle

Mitchell’s guest this evening is a young man whose story was one of two told in the film Oil & Water, David Poritz, about the devastation of large swaths of the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest, right in the middle of Indian tribal lands inhabited by the indigenous people for generations.  The film was featured on Progressive Film Hour on March 3, on which Mitchell interviewed one of the filmmakers, Francine Strickwerda and the other young man whose story was told in the film, Hugo Lucitante.

Both controversial and with impassioned, environmentalist emotions set aside, today’s guest, David Poritz, is creating a novel and really desperately needed protection of indigenously-populated lands through the ranking/rating system of safety and what need to be eco-sensitive practices by the oil industry, just as we have fair-trade certification for coffee, diamonds and other commodities often originating in the highly-exploited “Global South”.

Oil and Water will be the featured film for the matinee showing at the Paradigm Shifts Music and Film Festival on Sunday, March 29 at 3pm. For more information and tickets, go to: http://abetterworld.tv/a-music-and-film-festival-march-19-29/

Palm Oil vs. Rainforests: A Tragedy in the Making

    in Environment

Nicolas Alexandre, senior at the University of Arizona, President of the Palm Oil Awareness Initiative

Kim Kelly, Ph.D. candidate in Anthropology the University of Arizona, Co-Founder and advisor/member of Palm Oil Awareness Initiative

Stacey Tecot, Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Arizona, Co-Founder and Academic Advisor of Palm Oil Awareness Initiative

Did you know that palm oil is the MOST consumed edible oil today? And that because of its versatility, the demand worldwide has tripled over the last few decades. Palm oil is cheap and often substituted for cocoa butter and is semi-solid at room temperature. I like to think of it as one of those ingredients I call “what lies beneath.” It’s in lots of chocolate, frying oil, baked goods, breakfast cereals, cosmetics, personal care and cleaning products. Palm oil is in such demand that much of Southeast Asia, especially Borneo and Sumatra, have grown massive plantations of this crop – all at the very tragic expense of the rainforests and their inhabitants. Because of my deep love and respect for the rainforests, this show will be a tough one for me. But trust me when I say it will be one well worth listening to and I am ready for the challenge. This show sponsored by The University of Arizona.

The Expanding Gulf Between Light & Darkness on Let's Talk with Larry Bruce

    in Christianity

Join host Larry Bruce for a conversation with Charlana Kelly about the expanding gulf or divide between light and darkness. Christian persecution is on the rise around the world. There's a wake-up call in the Word of God to believers to be wise about the days we live in. Jesus warned and gave advice to His disciples from verses John 15:18 thru 16:2, after the last supper on their way to the Garden of Gethsemane, He warns them of the coming persecution. We need to take heed today as well. Tune in to hear more about the expanding gulf between light and darkness and how believers should position themselves for victory in the coming persecution.
