Hosted by Pop Artist Jamie Roxx
Tonight's Featured Guest: Xander Demos
Xander's style ranges from the beautifully melodic to the jaw-droppingly insane. Xander Demos is a metal guitar virtuoso, who is performing at several high-profile festivals this fall, including Skull Fest, Wolf Fest and Rock Harvest II. His debut album was mixed by Cj Snare of Firehouse fame. Xander also plays guitar with metal legend, James Rivera. He has his own signature guitar model, and he is an animal rights supporter. He is nominated for Rock Entertainer of the Year at the 2013 IMEA awards. He just released the first track from his 2nd album, mixed by JK Northrup of King Kobra/XYZ fame.
Xander plays guitars from Suhr, McNaught and Conklin, with whom he has endorsement deals. His endorsement from these guitar companies is a testament to his impressive skills and his deep commitment to playing the best guitars in the world.
Wednesday, March 12, 3 pm ET, The Halli Casser-Jayne Show, Talk Radio for Fine Minds welcomes arguably one of the great guitar players of our time, Roger McGuinn.
Guitar player, singer, songwriter, Roger McGuinn is best known as the lead singer and lead guitarist of The Byrds, today considered by critics to be one of the most influential bands of the 1960s, pioneering the musical genre of folk rock, melding the influence of The Beatles and other British Invasion bands with contemporary and traditional folk music.
McGuinn was voted in the top five on Rolling Stone’s list of greatest guitar players of all time, praised for his chordal 12-string Rickenbacker riffs, the sonic bridge between folk and rock that changed music forever.
Jim McGuinn was a kid from the Windy City when he became interested in music after hearing Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel, which inspired him to pick up the guitar. The rest, as they say, is history. McGuinn would play with The Limeliters, The Chad Mitchell Trio, Bob Dylan, Bo Diddley, Judy Collins and Bobby Darin. He and fellow Byrd members that included Gene Clark, David Crosby, Gram Parsons, Chris Hillman would make songs such as Mr. Tambourine Man, Turn Turn Turn, Eight Miles High and The Ballad of Easy Rider number one hits. In 1991 The Byrds were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Will and Thunder are excited to welcome LA's own Chris Sestric to talk about his band, new album called 'Something About The Snake,' and anything else he wants to talk about when he joins us.
Les Paul guitars on a Marshall with high vocals. Can't go wrong there!
Dedicated rock & roller Chris Sestric began working on his record “Something About The Snake” as a side project while playing in a host of Hollywood based bands, the longest tenures being with The Resistance and The Undead M.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA Chris is an accomplished musician, composer, songwriter and music producer. He has a bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he majored in Film Scoring and a secondary focus in Contemporary Writing & Production.
The heavy rock music of the early 90s was Chris’s most impressionable period. He sites Guns n’ Roses as his all time favorite band and hearing Steve Vai’s “Passion & Warfare “ as a life changing musical experience. While ignoring most mainstream music of the late 90s and early 2000s, Chris expanded his musicianship through the study of jazz and classical genres.
Since moving to Los Angeles Chris has worked as a music assistant to several Hollywood film composers on a per project basis, most notably Richard Gibbs. He has played guitar, sang and composed music for a variety of projects including film scores, jingles and music libraries.
Animal artist for over 15 years that decided to dedicate my life to painting portraits of working dog (K9) heroes. I only paint recognized military, contractor, SAR, police and PTSD Service dogs, not therapy dogs or family pets. Created the K9 Hero Portrait Project in March of 2013 while completing a portrait of MWD Gabe K153 SSD. During the completion of his portrait, I became aware of several K9's who were either killed in action or gravely injured, all within one week. Although I know working dogs are always faced with danger, it wasn't the events that drove me to create this project, it was the reactions of the handlers that were captured in photos and networked on the web. Each one was completely distraught at the loss or the injury of their K9 partner, who to them, was their family member. That's when I knew that these were the men and women I wanted to paint for. Each painting is donated to the handler, or, in the case of a retired working dog, to their family. Since the project is completely out of pocket, I help fund the program by having commemorative coins minted with the completed portrait on one side. The handler or family receives the first in the series, and the rest are sold to help fund the project and also be used to help donate to other working dog or military PTSD programs.

SHERMAN OAKS ROBERTO CLEMENTE NEW & IMPROVED FINISHED FILM SCREENING
Come See the 1st Finished Feature Film on the life of Roberto Clemente Saturday April 26th, at SHERMAN OAKS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, screening at 7:00 p.m. Make reservations at www.brownpapertickets.com Actor Isaac Bar-jonah, who portrays Manny "Sangy" Sanguillen in the film is our guest today.
Olympian high-jumper Jamie Nieto plays Roberto Clemente, & Project Runway Winner Marilinda Rivera plays Vera. The film is a love story showing Clemente's love for his family, his team, his fans, and for the disadvantaged poor whom he died helping. Cast & crew will be there in person for Q/A & director will perform film's theme song live.
On New Year's Eve 1972, following eighteen magnificent seasons in the major leagues, Roberto Clemente died a hero's death, killed in a plane crash as he attempted to deliver food and medical supplies to Nicaragua after a devastating earthquake.
Anyone who saw Clemente, as he played with a beautiful fury, will never forget him. He was a work of art in a game too often defined by statistics. His career ended with three thousand hits, the magical three-thousandth coming in his final at-bat.
Academy Award-considered filmmaker Richard Rossi grew up in Pittsburgh, watching the Great Roberto play for the Pirates. Rossi will bring his childhood baseball hero back to life in 'Baseball's Last Hero: 21 Clemente Stories,' an unauthorized biographical movie based on public domain records that is destined to become a modern classic.
Baseball's Last Hero: 21 Clemente Stories ' blends baseball with a redemptive story of sacrifice. In the words of the Gospel of John, "Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
We know that Republicans love to invade countries! They even admire those who do, Putin the Republican new Hero! The West’s standoff with Russia over its seizure of Crimea, analysts and former administration officials said, could complicate American efforts to curb Iran’s nuclear program, resolve Syria’s civil war and, even in the short run, broker peace between Israel and the Palestinians.
