The Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) Program is the largest school based father engagement program in the nation with over 4000 schools participating.
David Grubbs is the principal of Grandview Elementary School in Windsor, Colorado. Grandview was the 6th school of 144 Colorado schools running the Watch D.O.G.S. program. The program is continuing to thrive and fathers have made a significant impact at Grandview Elementary. The dads are now actually part of the school's emergency action plan.

Now it is time to get serious about the USAC Amsoil Eastern Storm. It happens next week here in PA and NJ. and we got the driver that is leading the points. Mr. Robert Ballou (The Madman) will be with us and yes you can expect the unexpected with The Madman.
Next up we have a driver that is an auto racing legend. He has won the 1997 USAC Silver Crown Championship, 1999 USAC National Sprint Car Championship, and was the 2001 and 2002 USAC National Midget Champion, making him one of only five drivers to claim all three USAC National Championships. Mr. Dave Darland (The Peoples Champ) will be with us to run down what he expects from the Eastern Storm and his search for his 100th USAC feature win.
For the past eight years Bob Miller has promoted at least one race on the USAC Eastern Storm Tour as part of the Thunder On The Hill series. The JESSE HOCKETT CLASSIC at Grandview Speedway has become the kickoff event for the prestigious USAC organization . This year’s event is on June 2nd. But before we get to that we have the Five 25’s this Sunday May 24th. Bob will be with us to get all up to date on Thunder On The Hill.
As we continue to gear up for the USAC Eastern Storm tour we are pleased to have one of the top stars of this series on the show. Brady Bacon from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma will join us to give us what it means to come east for this annual event.
Racing is often a family affair, and 27-year-old Chase Stockon is no exception. The Elizabethtown, Ind., native started racing quarter midgets at only five years old. Today, you can find Stockon racing at dirt tracks across the country in the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car series. Chase is currently second in national points and is looking forward to his trip East in a few weeks to defend his win in last year’s JESSE HOCKETT CLASSIC at Grandview Speedway. Tune is as we start our preparation for USAC Wingless 410 sprint car racing the first week of June.
When the Action Track USA in Kutztown is ready to open you know Spring is here and the hot Summer action on a Wednesday night is ready to kick off. We have columnist/announcer Barry Angstadt with us to get us ready for all the action that starts this Wednesday at the Action Track.
We are pleased to have Jared Umbenhauer with us this week. Jared is moving to the Modifieds after being a powerhouse competitor, winning three straight Sportsman titles at Grandview Speedway. It will be interesting to see if he carries that success to the primary division of competition. We will be talking about the big move up to Modifieds and Jared tells us he has some big news to announce. He did not tell LD&D what this is all about so we don’t have a clue what he is going to let out of the bag. Be with us live and find out when we do.
We hope you join us this week for a fireside chat with our friend Mr. Ernie Saxton. Many of you know him as the PA announcer for 46 years at Grandview Speedway. But Ernie has written columns on motorsports in the Bucks County Courier Times, Levittown, PA; Inside Track Motorsports News, Canada; Area Auto Racing News, Trenton, NJ, and Late Model Racer magazine. For many years his sponsorship column has appeared in the National Dragster. Considered an authority on the subject of sponsorship marketing. He has been quoted regarding motorsports sponsorship in a variety of publications including USA Today, NY Times, National Speed Sport News, and others. In addition Saxton publishes Motorsports Sponsorship Marketing News, a newsletter that informs and educates readers about sponsorship marketing. The newsletter is in its 30th year. He was president of the Eastern Motorsport Press Association for more than 40 years. Saxton was one of the original members of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Panel.
Many of our guests can be considered elite but none of them can say they have the Elite Status of being Ten Time NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modified Grandview Speedway Champion …. Yes that is right Mr. Jeff Strunk will be our guest this week. And to top it off he will be in the house at The Wing Man tomorrow night mixing with us normal folks. So if you got some time to burn come out for Cheese Steak night at The Wing Man and see Jeff Strunk mix it up with the Low Down and Dirty Gang.
Our first guest tonight will be Jim Bernheisel from Bernheisel Race Cars located in Jonestown, Pennsylvania. His reputation in racing is second to none. He has some news for us on this upcoming season which is great for the local racing community. The company has grown from humble beginnings in 1981, when the sale of racing bodies was its main source of revenue, to now where a large staff builds cars from the ground up and boasts an inventory of over one million dollars. Jim and his staff have an Open House this coming Saturday 17 January. Doors open at 9 a.m.
To keep with the Late Model stock car theme going our next guest is an up and coming driver in that division. G & H Motorsports, NASCAR Whelen All American late model driven Dan Green from Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Dan runs a Bernheisel Lazer Chassis. This 2013 Grandview Speedway Late Model Rookie of the Year has a big 2015 season planned and he will tell us all about it.
