Building a Growing Business in Grandview One Table at a Time with Sam Unruh

    in Entrepreneur

The best entrepreneurial stories begin with a personal moment of inspiration. For Sam Unruh, it was a desire to impress his significant other with a piece of furniture he’d designed, crafted and assembled by hand in his workshop. That “significant other” went to become Mrs. Unruh. And that “workshop” has grown into Kansas City’s premiere boutique furniture line.

Since 2010, Unruh has been outfitting homes with its trademark furniture designs. Some call it a reclaimed modern style, while others describe rustic , and we’re going to find out all about the business this week when  host Kelly Scanlon sits down with the owner and founder, Sam Unruh.

    in Sports

Some people swear by it, while others swear its a hoax. Regardless of how you may feel about it, chiropractic care has gained an impressive foothold in the alternative care arena. In fact, the projected job growth for chiropractors through 2020 is twice as high as the 14 percent average for all U.S. occupations combined.

In this episode, Desiree and Kaelin will chat with Maximized Living Chiropractor Dr. Kevin Miller, E.P. True Chiropractic, to get the 911 on chiropractic care and what it can mean for athletes and their performance. We'll also hear how a chiropractor saved his life.

A former wrestler, Dr. Miller regularly travels the U.S. and even abroad to support the health needs of athletes including serving at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the USA Weightlifting Championships and the NAIA Wrestling Championships, just to name a few. Locally, Kevin provides care for the Des Moines Blaze Football Team, the Des Moines Buccaneer Hockey Team, Grandview University Wrestling Team and the Mid-Iowa Roller Derby Team.

Here it is folks!!! This weekend is the last race at the famed mile at Syracuse. Since 1972 this fall classic has been the focal point of race teams in the northeast.

One of the people that can say they have been at every Syracuse race since the beginning is the well-known celebrated voice of the Syracuse Mile Mr. Joe Marotta. Joe has called every race at the New York State Fairgrounds since 1972, the first Super Dirt Week. He will bring all the history and great moments of the past Super Dirt Weekends as we take a trip down memory lane with Joe.

Richie Tobias has seen a lot of action at Super Dirt Week in a Modified and a Sprint Car. He will be taking a Silver Crown USAC Sprint Car to the Moodey Mile this year. This Pennsylvania star out of Lebanon was eighth at Syracuse in 2014 and pilots his own creation, a departure from the traditional Silver Crown look. Richie will also be with us to talk about his upcoming promotion at Grandview Speedway "Fall Jamboree" October 31 and November 1st.

Show will be broadcast from Corporate Headquarters in downtown Bechtelsville PA.
