    GRAMMY Nominations with Dustin Sellers

    in Entertainment

The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards nominations are in! Nashville makes a huge presence on the list, including artists such as Meghan Trainor, Brandy Clark, The Black Keys, Jack White, Ryan Adams and Cage The Elephant, not to mention the nominees from the Country categories. The guys discuss the list as well as Nikki Williams' performance in Nashville, holiday parties and more!

And this week's #NUartist is Dustin Sellers! Not only has Sellers performed as the front man for Nashville rock band Overzealous, and performed with Magnolia Sons, but he is now taking a solo approach with new music and live shows. Overzealous will still remain an active band and outlet for Dustin Sellers songs and performances. However, Sellers has alot of material that is unique to both overzealous and to previous material he has written.

    GRAMMY AWARD WINNER, FRANCESCA BATTISTELLI

    in Spirituality

Call it life feeding art. Call it truth in advertising. Call it a vintage Francesca moment. It happened as Francesca Battistelli was working on the follow-up to My Paper Heart, one of the most joyful and successful national debuts in recent memory, and it provides a telling glimpse into the mindset that makes her art so powerfully uplifting.   It's a dream she has long since fulfilled. Not only did My Paper Heart produce four major hits on the Christian charts—"I'm Letting Go," "Free To Be Me," "It's Your Life" and "Beautiful Beautiful"—but her music spread like wildfire on TV shows including ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, NBC’s The Biggest Loser, FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance, TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8, MTV’s The Hills and the Style Network's Running in Heels, on promos for the movie smash Julie & Julia and on the AOL Music home page, among many others. The release was the biggest-seller for a debut Christian artist in nearly a decade and the longest-running #1 for a female artist in Billboard Christian Album Chart history. It earned Francesca a raft of Dove Award nominations—she picked up the "Female Vocalist of the Year" and "Short Form Video" awards in April 2010—as well as a Grammy nomination en route to selling nearly half a million copies and three-quarters-of-a-million downloads.

Thelma Houston - Grammy Award Singer & Motown Legend

    in Music

    Colored People® Network Presents:

Grammy Award Singer & Motown Legend Thelma Houston

Houston is well-known to the world of Disco, R&B and Motown. One of her most notable singles during that period was "You've Been Doing Wrong for So Long" which secured her a Grammy nomination for a Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Houston released her third album Any Way You Like It in 1976. The first single released was her version of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes’ 1975 song "Don’t Leave Me This Way”. In February 1977 the track hit Number 1 in the U.S. on the R&B and Club Play Singles charts and in April 1977 on the Hot 100 Charts. "Don't Leave Me This Way" won Houston the Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the Grammys for 1977.

Thelma's Grammy-honored career spans four decades of American musical history, yet her vocals have never sounded richer than today.

Thelma Houston & JANITOR met in 2012 while performing at a benefit concert in Northern California. He played cello. She sang. Despite the 42 years between them, a musical bond was clear. Writing and recording music since 2012, Thelma & JANITOR are pleased to release their debut EP, “fortytwo” named for the difference in their ages. The five-song EP maps a journey of success and struggle in Thelma's words and a genre-defying tapestry of contemporary and vintage sounds in JANITOR’s beats.

Meet the Legendary Thelma Houston and share her life and latest collaboration with producer Janitor. Sponsored by: ZealForLifeProducts.com

    Multi-Grammy Award Winner!

    in Entertainment

Today on the BeachLifestyle Radio Show, Host Neil Haley will interview Multi-Grammy Award Winner! Welcome Daniel Ho to the show!

Daniel Ho's simple philosophy of presenting music with sincerity and artistry encompasses six consecutive GRAMMY Awards, number-one albums on national airplay charts, and top-ten albums on Billboard. In 2010, his solo 'ukulele CD, Polani (Pure), was the first 'ukulele album in music history to receive a GRAMMY nomination. On piano the following year, he received a nomination for Best Pop Instrumental Album for his CD, E Kahe Malie (Flowing Gently).

A Honolulu native, Daniel started music lessons at an early age and spent his teenage years orchestrating big band arrangements. At the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, he excelled in composition and film scoring. He was the leader and keyboardist of the acclaimed '90s contemporary jazz band, Kilauea.

Daniel performs original songs in English and Hawaiian that feature his versatility on 'ukulele, slack key guitar, and piano. Notable credits include singing Prince's Nothing Compares 2 U in Hawaiian for the feature film "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" (2008), and his widely covered `ukulele instrumental anthem, Pineapple Mango. As an independent record company owner, he pursues excellence in composition, performance, audio engineering, and production. Ever the innovator, Daniel's custom six-string KoAloha 'ukulele, the D-VI, is currently on exhibit at the GRAMMY Museum.
