How Should You Respond to Personal Injustice?

    in Spirituality

How should YOU deal with injustice committed against you? Throw up your hands and do nothing? Use courts of law? Or take personal revenge because courts of law are corrupt? Here's the bigger question? How do you get God on your side, working FOR you in this, and not AGAINST you? St. Peter, (and there's too many jokes about standing before St. Peter in Heaven) had a few words to say about this. And if anybody knew about injustice, it was he. This Thursday evening we'll talk about that, and here from Peter in his own words. Tune in and take notes! Your host: Rev. Rick Anderson, on "Jewish Roots", an internet call-in podcast each Thursday 9:30 pm at www.blogtalkradio.com/fougcrew. Or listen LIVE through Twitter, LinkedIn, GooglePlus or www.facebook.com/fougcrew / To call with a question or comment: 347-324-5759. Jewish Roots - "The Wisdom Of King David: Learning From Past Mistakes "

    in Spirituality

The Wisdom of King David: Learning From Past Mistakes  ENCORE PRESENTATION!!!!!!

Past mistakes can be an enormous asset IF you treat them as David did. He saw them as things he could use for his future benefit and blessing. In many ways, this was a man of enormous contradictions: from the sublime to the degrading, from spiritual to sinful, he lived through it all and did it all. Not at all a "holier-than-thou" self-righteous saint, his checkered life only adds to his credibility. What can we learn from him about using past mistakes for present benefits?  The Jewish term for this is "doing teshuva": Tune in and take notes! Your host: Rev. Rick Anderson, every Thursday at 9:30-10:30 pm, EDT. Listen LIVE at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/fougcrew, or through Twitter, Linkedin, Googleplus, and Facebook.com/fougcrew.  To access Rev. Anderson's website: http://www.scripturesdramatized.com.

Jewish Roots - " The Synagogue In Christian Society Part 2 "

    in Spirituality

"The Synagogue in Christian Society: Part 2"

Since the days of Christ and the apostles, Church-vs-Synagogue relations have been anything but good. What started as a movement within Judaism became a separate movement all its own. The hostility was compounded by the Synagogue's reaction to what it called a heretical sect. The Church responded with over-reaction. The rancor increased over centuries, and as the Church became mainstream in formerly pagan society, the Old Testament "People of the Book" were increasingly marginalized and persecuted. In the midst of all this, and DESPITE it all, many Jews came to believe that Jesus of Nazareth was indeed the promised Messiah. This Thursday we look at it all more closely in the 2nd of a 5-part series. Tune in and take notes! Your host, Rev. Rick Anderson on "Jewish Roots", each Thursday at 9:30 pm EDT. Listen LIVE at  www.blogtalkradio.com/fougcrew or through Twitter, LinkedIn, GooglePlus and facebook.com/fougcrew. To call with a comment or question: 347-324-5750.

Jewish Roots - Encore Presentation! Why Blame God?

    in Spirituality

    Why Blame God?

It's the seamy little secret of the Christian life: that we blame God when things go wrong. Not all of us maybe, but some of us sometimes. And by "us", I'm talking about Christians. They're the ones who aren't supposed to have this problem. But they do, and even the best of us wonder about the goodness and care of our Heavenly Father at times. Other people have that problem too. For example, take the Jews with the Holocaust: the Jewish community-at-large still wonders how an all-powerful God who's supposed to be good can allow so much evil in the world. This Thursday we'll talk about this: Tune in and take notes! Your host: Rev. Rick Anderson, this Thursday at 9:30 pm, EDT. Listen on archive http://www.blogtalkradio.com/fougcrew, or through Twitter, LinkedIn, GooglePlus, and Facebook.com/fougcrew.

Jewish Roots - The Trinity Doctrine In The Hebrew Scriptures

    in Spirituality

The Trinity Doctrine in the Hebrew Scriptures

Christians claim that God is both a Unity and a "Trinity": This makes absolutely no sense to either Muslims or Jews. In fact SEEMS to violate a law of logic called "The Law of Non-Contradiction": that a thing cannot be "A" and "non-A" at the same time. This Thursday at 9:30 pm on "Jewish Roots" we put this Trinity doctrine to the test. Where did the Church get it from? Roman Catholic tradition? A biblical corruption in translation that the Qur'an has since corrected? Or  a fanciful New Testament leap of faith that has no basis is Jewish thought? Tune in and take notes! Your host: Rev.
