A Theory of Parenting - Ford Foundation

    in Travel

    Hello,

Welcome to A Theory of Parenting on Blogtalkradio.com

    My name is Tammi Joyner

I am your Host for the Show

Today we are live from The Ford Foundation Atrium!

location: 320 E 43rd St – Take any of the trains in Grand Central Station

    www.fordfoundation.org

The building is a part of the public spaces open to the public!

Inside the building, a lush tropical garden on the ground level forms the focal point of an enormous and sunlit 10-story glass atrium. Amazingly, keeping this garden watered doesn’t deplete city utilities; the building’s roof captures rainwater, and during dry periods, the garden is kept healthy with a stored water supply.

Glancing up towards the roof, the greenery continues. Ferns and vines hang down from girders above, and small trees are visible from the top floors. The garden’s serene aura is aided by the fragrance of gardenias, and the sound of running water supplying a pool hidden amid the trees. The Ford Foundation was completed in 1967 and designated a national landmark in 1997.

It’s open to the public on weekdays from 10 AM to 4 PM.

A Theory of Parenting - Rockefeller Center

    in Current Events

    Hello,

Welcome to A Theory of Parenting on Blogtalkradio.com

    My name is Tammi Joyner

I am your Host for the Show

Today we are live from Rockefeller Center in NYc

Throughout the year, the Rockefeller Center Channel Gardens blooms in uniquely themed plant installations that transform with the seasons.

Visit the Channel Gardens to see the April Showers installation on display from April 20 through May 31.

Designed specifically for Rockefeller Plaza, Masks (Pentagon) consists of five masks ranging in height from 14.5 to 16.5 feet, each of which reflects a different approach to the stylized representation of the human face, from the clearly recognizable to the highly abstracted.

The five masks, which were cast from clay in industrial-strength synthetic plaster, stand on a stepped base made from massive beams of unfinished redwood. The back of each element of the sculpture reveals the artists method of construction – a grid-like armature of rebar inlaid with hemp and plaster.

Rockefeller Center is home to a remarkable collection of art deco motifs and sculptures signifying man’s development in spirit, science, industry and more.

we are live from the 805 Third Avenue (49th and 50th Street) - The Crystal Pavilion

www.untappedcities.com says:  This tri-leveled lunch hotspot is best accessed at the street level via a wide, right-angled circulation corridor, which also connects the Third Avenue and East 50th Street entrances. The concourse level, reached by escalator near the Third Avenue entrance has the most amount of tables and services, and is the spot where during mid-day, when the sun comes bursting through the windows, one can look up and literally be dazzled by the space’s volume and design.

Truf Bros Radio: What is Good Parenting? Vol 2

    in Entertainment

After images of Tanya Graham chastising her son to keep him from participating in the Baltimore Riots blurred across the T.V. screen, as well as social media news feeds. Many parents applauded her because although her actions appeared to be severe, she did what was needed to keep her child from being another statistic. There is also the mock arrest staged by Chiquita Hill of her 10 year old Sean for being disrespectful in school and at home. When she posted the pictures to social media she received thousands of comments and shares. If you are "Keeping Up with The Kardashians" you see that underage 17 year old Kylie is dating a 25 year old rapper. Many would ask "What were they thinking!" are these cases good parenting or bad parenting? Some parents don't help their kids with their homework, but have the audacity to verbally attack the school administration and the teachers when they tell them that little Rayvon is failing. So, please join Ray and Devon as they discuss "What is good parenting?" Check us out Mondays at www.trufbrosradio.com or by calling in 818 514 1202. Also feel free to check out past episodes at at
