The Don S. McClure Show - Are we still just a one talent producing culture

    in Lifestyle

The Don S. McClure - Are we still just a one talent producing culture.

This image and the topic is created because one of the icons in Chicago is leaving for the betterment of her company.

And one can not blame her for wanting to continue to grow strong. But what does here leaving or why should her leaving present such a gap when we say we have many Black Millionaries, and we are a city of growth.  Yet in the Black community we are still caught in the one spot light. Where where the negotions for buying the Building or Where were the power brokers to make a new TV name for someone and give talent the chance they desire and deserve.

We do more talking about support then we do giving support. It show each Black History month when we say the same ten names and maybe add a couple of new ones.

It shows in the amount of productions we have on Tv and it shows in the amount of Directors, and Producers and those that lead and open new frontiers.

We have seen this happen time and time again in Detroit, Memphis, Chicago, Gary, and in Baltimore and Cleveland and there are more cities.

We always ask if a talent went to see those same names to help promote their dreams.

So I ask again when do we become real producers and offerreal support.

So that we break this cycle of madness.

Featured recording Artist: Goapele- Break of Dawn- Strong As Glass- My LOve - and Yeah Yeah Yeah.

Goapele returned to Oakland after her time at Berklee College of Music, where she concentrated on writing and recording songs. In 2001, she self-released her debut album, Closer, which sold 5,000 copies.

More about this amazing artist on the Don S. McClure Show.

LOTL The Comfort Zone Presents ADESHA. Debuts new album 'Giving Love A Try'

    in Entertainment

Powerful, sultry, dynamic, and moving are just a few words people have used to describe Adesha’s voice. Though Deltrina had no idea her daughter’s name meant voice, she knew Adesha was destined to sing.
Oakland, California native, Adesha made her solo debut singing for hundreds of people at The War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco at the tender age of six. By age ten she had starred and co-starred in musicals, she sang a jingle for a commercial, and had performed solo at a few of San Francisco’s live music venues. Years of training from singing in church; vocal coaching from her mother Deltrina Johnson, a trained gospel singer; and numerous live performances would follow the training she received in her primary years. At age 13 Adesha joined a girl group called “Under 21”. The trio spent most of their high school career performing and in the recording studio. At age 16 Adesha embarked upon a spiritual journey that would change the course of her future. Being famous was no longer her life’s goal. She wanted her music to make a difference; she wanted her music to change lives. This decision would lead to Adesha leaving “Under 21”. The resistance she experienced from her cohorts, management, and peers as a result of her decision sent Adesha into a bit of a depression. She would spend the next 4 years soul searching and took hiatus from singing.  To date Adesha and "Seven" have played a list of venues from San Francisco to LA. They have opened for Ledisi, Goapele, Gospel diva Kim Burrell, Kase, Anthony David, Carl Thomas and more. Adesha recently released a dance EP entitled “Giving Love a Try” which is soon to be followed by her first full length album “Giving Love a Try”.

DJ DOUBLE O ....Exclusive Interview .w/...Tia Ferrera ....Jan 11, 2014..8pm

    in Music

Tia Ferrera was born to sing. Being born into a family of musicians introduced her at a young age to music, but her love and passion for singing has paved the way to living out her destiny – becoming the recording artist that she was always meant to be. There are many titles that can describe her career choice, but just one title describes the essence of her soul, her heart and her voice: songbird. Her sound has been compared to R&B favorites including Tamia, Amerie and the late, great Aaliyah. Tia’s powerful yet soothing, and unique sound is certain to gain interest from across the globe.

Aside from her raw talent and passion, Tia has had extensive experience as well as training from the masters of her trade. She has trained with Grammy-award winning voice coach, Mama O. and has shared the stage with R&B sensation, Miguel, the lovely and talented, Goapele as well as Ginuwine and Def Jam Recording artist John West. Her experience includes, but is not limited to, performing at the infamous House of Blues in Hollywood, CA; a guest star appearance on Telemundo, which is the second largest Spanish-language content producer in the world; a music host for Macy’s “Get Fit” Campaign in conjunction with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and a feature artist performance at the San Francisco State University 10 anyway), our favorite songbird is an international sensation with a new album soon to be released that is expected to be successful and fame imminent.

Though she is blessed with success in her musical career today, Tia is no stranger to struggle and pain.
