Contentment & JOY 15 Minute Strategy Session

    in Christianity

To be content no matter the conditions with unspeakable joy is the topic of today's 15 Minute Encourage Me Session. Philippians 4: 10-14, Message, "I’m glad in God, far happier than you would ever guess—happy that you’re again showing such strong concern for me. Not that you ever quit praying and thinking about me. You just had no chance to show it. Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am."

Fundamentally Mormon Lesson 7: Open Discussion

    in Religion

Speaking about the Gospel of the Restoration and the Redemption of Zion... Guest Call in 516-387-1647.

    JST, Genesis 9:21–25.

    Compare Genesis 9:16–17

21 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant, which I made unto thy father Enoch; that, when men should keep all my commandments, Zion should again come on the earth, the city of Enoch which I have caught up unto myself.

     22 And this is mine everlasting covenant, that when thy posterity shall embrace the truth, and look upward, then shall Zion look downward, and all the heavens shall shake with gladness, and the earth shall tremble with joy;

23 And the general assembly of the church of the firstborn shall come down out of heaven, and possess the earth, and shall have place until the end come. And this is mine everlasting covenant, which I made with thy father Enoch.

24 And the bow shall be in the cloud, and I will establish my covenant unto thee, which I have made between me and thee, forevery living creature of all flesh that shall be upon the earth.

25 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant which I have established between me and thee; for all flesh thatshall be upon the earth.

A MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHESY

    in Christianity

When the protection of human laws shall be withdrawn from those who honor the law of God, there will be, in different lands, a simultaneous movement for their destruction. As the time appointed in the decree draws near, the people will conspire to root out the hated sect. It will be determined to strike in one night a decisive blow, which shall utterly silence the voice of dissent and reproof.

The people of God--some in prison cells, some hidden in solitary retreats in the forests and the mountains--still plead for divine protection, while in every quarter companies of armed men, urged on by hosts of evil angels, are preparing for the work of death. It is now, in the hour of utmost extremity, that the God of Israel will interpose for the deliverance of His chosen. Saith the Lord; "Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth . . . to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel. And the Lord shall cause His glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the lighting down of His arm, with the indignation of His anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones." Isaiah 30:29, 30.

With shouts of triumph, jeering, and imprecation, throngs of evil men are about to rush upon their prey, when, lo, a

dense blackness, deeper than the darkness of the night, falls upon the earth. Then a rainbow, shining with the glory from the throne of God, spans the heavens and seems to encircle each praying company. The angry multitudes are suddenly arrested. Their mocking cries die away. The objects of their murderous rage are forgotten. With fearful forebodings they gaze upon the symbol of God's covenant and long to be shielded from its overpowering brightness.

    Another Alternative Fasting & Praying

    in Spirituality

God calls us to fast. Fasting means to abstain from food or some food. By fasting, one shows discipline, humility before God, & faith. The Power of Fasting & Prayer states, “Fasting will break every yoke of bondage (Isaiah 58). Sometimes, fasting is a sign of humbling & mourning (Lev.23:27; Joel 2:12-13; Deut.9:25-29).  At other times, fasting can be a praise offering to the Lord & it contains an element of joy and gladness (Psalm 50:14 & 23; Zech.8:19). Fasting is a help in intercession - other times, fasting is for personal requests, personal growth and victory over sin or just for situations of unusual pressure or oppression.  Saints/believers can be “on one accord” by praying on the hour & pray the prayers  at www.manifestthetruth.com/prayer-and-fasting.html. You can ask the Holy Ghost what type of fast you should do. Each week, you can do a different type of fast. You can do liquids only, give up certain foods like Daniel did for 21 days or the Queen Esther’s fast by eating no food or liquids for 3 days & 3 nights. You can gain spiritual growth by reading The Power of Fasting & Prayer or Biblical Fasting, which depicts the various types of fasts in the Holy Bible & the 12 blessings of fasting and prayer.  Yeshua rose before sunrise to pray & prayed for an hour. In his book, “The Hour that Changes the World”, Dick Eastman discusses how to pray for an hour, which can be downloaded at www.ManifestTheTruth.com. There is power when 2 or more are gathered together & Jesus/Yeshua is in the midst of the prayer. We suggest all believers/saints pray Prayer #1-The Believers'/Saints' Commitment Prayer. Believers can go into the closet & talk to God.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

    The Ingathering (Acts 2:37-47)

    in Christianity

Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?” Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
