Director Gil Green is creating Who Is Lou Gehrig? a short film featuring Miami Heat power forward Udonis Haslem. The film is inspired by Green’s friend of over 20 years, Jeff Fogel, who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease) about three years ago. The film will follow Fogel as he escapes into his imagination to create a more positive reality for himself. Gil already has raised over his goal of $60,000 on Kickstarter
Though ALS has received a lot of recent press, this project is not affiliated with the viral ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
“While the Ice Bucket Challenge has brought a tremendous amount of awareness to ALS, this film is meant to do something beyond that.”, said Green. “Our goal is to provide an insight not only to the effects of the disease, but to have people be inspired by Jeff’s courageous ability to maintain a positive daily outlook, amongst life’s biggest challenges.”
The film will premiere at The Borscht Film Festival this December. For more information, visit the Who Is Lou Gehrig? Kickstarter campaign at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/whoislougehrig/who-is-lou-gehrig-an-inspiring-film-about-als or at www.whoislougehrig.com.

Tonight we spotlight 3 of his classic. 1 "Angel Dust" ( a poetic editorial of the it drug at that time), 2 "Inner City Blues" (a remake of the Marvin Gaye classic) and 3 "The Revolution Will Not Be Tekevised" ( Gil's most memorable work). Join us to night as we spotlight one of music's great consicous minds. Call in (347) 826- 774
September has already proven to be QUITE different than we've previously experienced on "Hybrid Jazz!" Multiple guests, time changes and even DAY changes. But we MUST to accommodate our guests - and it's exciting to ponder - because this truly means a surge of musical activity! New CDS, gigs to share and clubs popping with the sound of creative artists.
One of THOSE in the Uber Creative category is the fabulously charismatic violinist, Chelsey Green. Born in Houston, Chelsey was immersed in the Jazz and Funk of her family - lots of musicianship there. So how is it the similarly inclined music lover gravitated to violin at age FIVE?! And steered toward an education in Classical studies? Chelsey will answer that question when she joins us in the third hour of the show on 9/17. And SOON - we'll have to call her Doctor Green - since she is doctoral candidate at the University of Maryland in College Park :) We'll hear tracks from her forthcoming CD - you had best believe it! "The Green Room" drops on 9/23!
Gil Parris is a truly respected guitarist, based in New York, and known for his seamless transitions within his playing. He prides himself on the fusion of Jazz, Rock and Blues - sometimes Country - in his repertoire. He was attending Berklee in Boston many years ago - when he was tapped to tour in Europe with "Jesus Christ, Superstar." Gil has never looked back since then! Grammy nominated, Gil has recorded six solo albums and has worked with an extraordinary number of artists - Dr. John, Toni Braxton, and Blood, Sweat & Tears - to name a few. Paul Shaffer and Randy Brecker have raved about him, as most of The Big Apple does. And he'll play there on Thursday night at B.B. King's! Which is why we've airing "Hybrid Jazz" on Wednesday ;) Join us!
The Gil House, found in Galion, Ohio, is reported to be haunted. Staff and visitors have reported seeing things, feeling like they're being watched, hearing footsteps and much more.
The property has a rich and varied history, having been a private home, business and much more in the years it has stood. There have also been several changes to the original structure over the years as well. Could that have caused the activity to start? Tune in Thursday 7.25.13 at 7pm eastern and hear straight from the staff members themselves about their activity.
Then listen in as we bring Cornerstone team members into the conversation, as they were invited to investigate the location privately and wait until you hear their stories and what evidence they believe they collected at the Gil.
Then, once the show is over, the staff from the Gil will start accepting private reservations for your own paranormal investigation for you to check it out for yourself!
