Germaine W. Shames has written from six continents--soon to add the seventh--on topics ranging from the Middle East crisis to Aboriginal land rights, from the struggle to save the Amazon to the plight of street children. She is the holder of Arizona's Literary Fellowship in Fiction, is author of the critically-acclaimed novel Between Two Deserts (Macadam/Cage Publishing, Fall 2002), two earlier nonfiction books, and three feature screenplays.
She will be stopping by to chat about her latest novel, "You Fascinating You" In the final weeks of 1938, in the shadow of Kristallnacht and imminent war, a heartsick Italian maestro wrote a love song called “Tu Solamente Tu”. Its lyrics lamented his forced separation from his wife, the Hungarian ballerina Margit Wolf, in the wake of Mussolini’s edict banishing foreign Jews from Italy.
Host Cyrus Webb welcomes actor and recording artist Germaine "Mouce" Brooks to #ConversationsLIVE to discuss his journey to doing what he loves and seeing the way people have been responding. Recently Brooks appeared in the movie LILA & EVE opposite Viola Davis and Jennifer Lopez and has released new music. He will introduce his single MAKE A PLAY during the broadcast.

Readers from all over the country tell me that although these novels are set in Texas, they could be about a small town anywhere. It's my job as an author to illuminate the everyday lives of my characters and to explore their darker sides-where hopes and dreams collide with vices and secrets."

For those younguns who say, "I wasn't even born yet" as an excuse for ignorance, let's talk Congress and President. The pols may claim they are bipartisan or above it all (that's a good compagin ploy) but the memories of their parties' shames are too powerful to ignore and too painful to forget or to forgive.
Since the election of Barack Obama as POTUS, we've seen this at its worst. For you millennials, let's talk Nixon. The disgraced GOP Prez lives on after his rehabilitation and then his physical death. Even though he skated free form jail and removal from office by the grace of his VP, Republicans know he was the pits and he got caught.
Big deal, you scoff? This is what happened with Presidents Clinton and Obama. It's what has been happening in recent years with obstructionist Congress. It's what continues to divide neighbors and families as well as legislators. We'll see more of it.
I'll rant about turning tides and swinging pendula.
Having Annie and Lena back to back again. And, they are doing their thing. We will hear Min. Bell interview Min Harrod about his abuse and how it changed him ....and how he had come out on the other side. And, then Lena as she interviews Ms Quarterman to discuss her personal battle with mental health in her home with her children.
Part 4.....Breaking The Cycle of Victimization with Minister Annie Bell. And, we will have Lena Germaine Hurst Clark in the second hour to discuss Mental Health with Delora Quarterman.
Two powerful shows. Two powerful topics and two powerful HOSTS. Don't miss it! We get started at 5pm!!!
