Bridges Programming, with guest host Bonfire

    in Energy

This is a message from Bonfire telling us what she will be talking about tonight.

"I'd like to spend time on geoengineering and especially, because it is just so yummy, Solar Radiation Management.

Also, WHAT?!, the desertification of Syria because of WHAT?! Climate Change - really!? Or maybe weather warfare? Y' think?

Also, the psychic impacts of watching the Sky being stolen almost every day... and globally.

The cringe of watching death play tic-tac-toe  on the once-blue.

I also have a couple of (short - don't panic!) poems.

Many reflections on WINTER and on feral cats. And on winter.  Did I mention winter? And its impacts?

Faces of the aguards-assailants at Attica in 2011.

    Faces of heroin addicts (teenagers).

    My AHHHHpera. "The Rift".

Turns: Realizing one's "turn" is over.  Realizing one must turn toward death (reading obituaries).

And the glory of laughter. Big, deep, rolling, rollicking, roiling laughter.

That oughta keep us busy, eh?"

      Yes, I think so!

Really Early Morning with Kp 2-6-15...

    in Education

    Show link: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/kpradiohawaii/2015/02/06/really-early-morning-with-kp-2-6-15

This one was primarily about “energy”, and electrical energy generation. Spurred by the Puna Geothermal Venture article, where holes are drilled into the lava to generate power from the steam generated and the difference in temperature, which makes a lot of noise and they (PGV) want to do it 24 hrs. a day, but even so, all the electricity goes into “the grid”, the old paradigm grid. It just “makes more sense” for each person, each house, to have their own individual electricity generator.

We also talked about the crystal battery, Nick’s great ideas, and the Bedini School Girl motor (link 1, link 2).

CREATIVE HOMESTEADING WITH PETER BALDWIN TO GIVE HUMANKIND A CHANCE TO SURVIVE

    in Culture

ENVISION THIS: Off-grid, self-sufficient living that includes creative amenities and technology

Peter Baldwin is a homesteading philosopher, pioneer, and entrepreneur.  He supports himself by manufacturing quality traditional and innovative wooden orchard ladders and drums of standard, custom, or traditional design.  He also facilitates drumming circles, sometimes on a community-sized drum, and teaches practical life skills in school-based programs.

We are broadcasting from his amazing eco-cabin in Brooks, Maine, self-built for 1/10 the cost of a standard American home.  Our audio-tour of his homestead will include his farm; wind, solar, and geothermal power; self-built, innovative cool-box and root cellar food storage; hand water pump with water tank above a wood stove for hot water to sink and shower; bucket commode to produce humanure; and home-made laundry machine.

He claims the eco-cabin runs on about ½ hour of muscle power a week!?  It also runs on Peter’s deep philosophical and humane commitment to giving civilization a chance to survive.  He will explain how, once we control our fears of change, we enter a vast frontier of opportunity for humankind.  We can develop greater connection to self and community; safe, secure, sustainable economies; and regional manufacture of goods and services that will provide full employment.

This is one time we really wish we had video as well as audio capabilities, but check out Peter’s pictures at www.blogtalkradio.com/envision-this and his rap video presentation on YouTube: Peter Baldwin: Rapstar Incognito.  Okay, so Peter isn’t really a rapper but he is a star in our book. He lives his motto: “One People, One Earth, One Heartbeat.”

Is Energy Diversity The Key To A Sustainable Future?

    in Energy

The paradigm has shifted and the days of relying upon mature energy are numbered. While the race is on to find what seems to be a “one-size-fits-all” solution for sustainable energy that will eliminate our dependence upon fossil fuels, perhaps we should be looking at more than one source. Can diversity be the key to the future of sustainable clean energy? In this segment of The Clean Energy View, host, June Stoyer talks to Tom Drolet, President of Drolet and Associates Energy Services, Inc. Mr. Drolet has worked in the energy industry and technology innovation industries for over 42 years. He brought a wealth of experience at the senior management level to the electrical utility industry at Ontario Hydro, the fourth largest electrical utility in the world (Nuclear, Coal, Natural Gas, Hydroelectric), American Electric Power (Canada) and DTE Energy. He has worked on BOD and in the oil and natural gas industries in North America and on Renewable Energies in North and South America, Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines. He has also worked with several new technology industries in the areas of energy (fusion energy, distributed generation, fuel cells, and innovative geothermal processes), as well as in the area of medical pharmaceutical breakthrough applications in cancer treatments. In the last 25 years Mr. Drolet has worked internationally in 44 countries, predominantly in North America, South America, Australia, China, Russia, South Korea, Japan, Africa and Europe. He has spoken at over 175 major conferences on issues in energy and the effects of new technologies on the economies of the western world. If you are not receiving our most recent interviews, please re-subscribe to our new Official RSS feed on iTunes, Youtube or you can visit our podcast archives at www.theorganicview.com. ©2014 TheOrganicView.com. Stone Medicine - Geothermal Therapy with Jenny Ray, the Medicine Woman!

    in Moms and Family

Over 10,000 years ago the ancestors of Native American tribes began offering stones to the body for wellness. Stone Medicine healing has been passed down for generations in the Santee Dakota Sioux tribe.

Today Jenny Ray, a Native American Medicine Woman and a descendant of the Medicine Ways of Inyan Oyate (the Stone Nation) shares the knowledge and message of the stones with professional massage therapists around the world.

Besides being able to offer their clients highly effective yet pain free, deep tissue manipulation using temperature with specific strokes, professional practitioners of this Geothermal Therapy also extend their working life by reducing physical stress on joints and muscles, and protecting them from injuries.

Jenny and I will be discussing the history of stone medicine and its connection to our Ina Maka (Mother Earth) and the reconnection of today’s wellness practitioners to this ancient art of healing.

Please call 347.327.9995 on Tuesday August 3rd from 10-11am CST US to join Jenny and I live on the air with your questions and personal stories.

Clean Energy View: Is Natural Gas Economically Viable?

    in Energy

According to the EPA, natural gas is defined as a fossil fuel formed when layers of buried plants and animals are exposed to intense heat and pressure over thousands of years. The energy that the plants and animals originally obtained from the sun is stored in the form of carbon in natural gas. Natural gas is combusted to generate electricity, enabling this stored energy to be transformed into usable power. Natural gas is a nonrenewable resource because it cannot be replenished on a human time frame. The natural gas power production process begins with the extraction of natural gas, continues with its treatment and transport to the power plants, and ends with its combustion in boilers and turbines to generate electricity. Natural gas is used to generate electricity, serves as an alternative to gasoline, can be used to generate hydrogen and helps create fertilizer. It has a cost advantage over other forms of energy such as solar, wind and geothermal. However, there is a huge debate as to whether or not natural gas makes sense because of the pros and cons with this form of energy such as the environmental impact, the current return on the investment the impact on the face of energy. In this segment of The Clean Energy View Radio Show, hosts, June Stoyer and host, Luis Mejia, Managing Partner, Murdock Capital Partners talk to energy expert, Tom Drolet, President of Drolet and Associates Energy Services, Inc. Mr. Drolet has worked in the energy industry and technology innovation industries for over 42 years. If you are not receiving our most recent interviews, please re-subscribe to our new Official RSS feed on iTunes or go to www.theorganicview.com. ©2013 TheOrganicView.com.
