Gender Chat: Episode 3: Trending Topics

    in Podcasting

For this show, I plan to talk about what is trending on Facebook and Twitter.  If time, I will take in call, (if any) to talk about anything that's on their minds.  I will also be talking about what has been happening with me and tell you more about me and this station.  I just became a Trekkie, so I might be throwing in a bit of Star Trek reference.  Forgive me if I can't spell anything in here correctly, this section of inputing alpha-numaric sentances does not have auto-correct.

So here is what will happen in order....

1:  I will talk about me and about the station.

2:  I will talk about trending topics on Facebook and Twitter (at the current time).

3:  I will take in calls if anyone is listening.

4:  I will give a thought of the evening

I hope you will enjoy listening to Gender Chat on Blog Talk Radio, and I hope to hear your views and ideas.  Details are on the station/channel/profile page.

    in Psychology

This Sunday, join Sex Positive Works for a "touching" discussion with none other than Kitty Pride of Sex, by Kitty Pride.

As a licensed massage therapist and sexpert, she will give us some ideas about how different types of touch can produce different outcomes - sexual or not.  Also, for those who prefer rough touch to gentle touch; high intensity, short duration touch to low intensity, long duration touch; implements to manual touch; or even machine-generated stimulation to self touch, what are the best ways to maintain balance, to experience pleasure, and to (when appropriate) reciprocate and be responsive?

Bring your questions and ideas to us this Sunday at 6:30pm EST on BTR. Listener dial-in number: (646) 787-1616

    Sexuality and Spirituality

    in Spirituality

In all the variations of religion and spirituality, the differing views on sexuality are staggering. To some it is a sin, to others it is a sacrament, frowned on in some systems, celebrated in others. In some forms of Witchcraft it's a powerful Magical act, in some ATRs there is no sexual component at all. In some systems there have developed many rules, due to the prevalence of sexual preditors and inappropriate contact in some religions and spirituality. As we welcome in the Spring, it seems an appropriate time to talk about these variations. The do's and don'ts, the good and bad. Things to watch out for and avoid, how to stay safe and have fun, get enlightened, while getting some. Who knows where the conversation may lead.

The Purpose and Power of Sexuality

    in Women

"God designed sexuality as a gift that protects marriage, strengthens our bond, and blesses our families." ~ Bette Nordberg

Do you think we live in a sex-saturated culture? Does it make it that much harder to have healthy relationships? Some would respond with a resounding "YES!"

As powerful as sexuality is, it seems to have been watered-down to no more than a basic animal appetite. But that was never God's original intent for sex. It was meant to be blessing, not a curse. However, many struggle with sexual addiction, temptation, and confusion over their sexual identity. In the quest for the quick fix, the long-term happiness that many seek in a relationship has all but vanished. Why?

If you're dismayed by the dwindling value of sexual purity, or if you're struggling in your development of a healthy relaitonship with your spouse, tune in today. Our guest, Bette Nordberg, author of Pure Sex, Great Sex: Discovering God's Best for Marriage is here to dispel some of the myths surrounding sex, sexuality, and marriage. Call in with your questions and comments! Call 646-716-6910 or log in to our LIVE chat room.

Hood Rules : Who Wears The Pants? ( The Push to Deconstruct Gender Roles)

    in Current Events

the revolution of the mind continues...

Amazon recently declared that children's toys will no longer be separated by gender. No more trucks for boys or dolls for girls... Everyone plays with everything.

Which led us into a debate...

Are gender role assignments crucial to mental health and stability... Especially in communities of color?

Are gender "roles" even fair? Shouldn't everyone assume whatever "role" they must to ensure life liberty and happiness? Or are these "roles" the very glue that binds our society?

The Global Impact of Gender Diversity on Technology Business Performance

    in Business

The TalentCulture #TChat Show will be live from the IT@Cork European Technology Summit in Cork, Ireland on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, from 6-7pm GMT (1-2pm ET, 10-11am PT).

Last week we talked about how to amaze every customer every time, and this week we're going to talk about impact of gender diversity on technology business performance around the world.

A University of Cambridge study has observed that Ireland is fifth in the world for female economic power, ranking just behind Australia, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

Overall the state of women in tech and business isn’t great, but academic institutions are now seeing companies and STEM-based industries develop diverse talent pools that improve business performance.

Join TalentCulture #TChat Show co-founders and co-hosts Meghan M. Biro and Kevin W. Grossman as we welcome our special guests from the IT@Cork European Technology Summit: David Parry-Jones, VP UKI Vmware; Caroline O’Driscoll, Tax Partner at KPMG, Vice Chair of IT@cork; and Michael Loftus, Head of Faculty of Engineering & Science at CIT.

Thank you to all our TalentCulture sponsors and partners: Dice, Jibe, TalentWise, Hootsuite, IBM, CareerBuilder, PeopleFluent, PAW and HRmarketer Insight. Plus, we're big CandE supporters!
