Happy Pride: Gay Scientists Explain It All

    in Family

Mitchell Moffit and Gregory Brown, the smart, adorable, and clever hosts of the very popular YouTube series AsapSCIENCEposted a video yesterday in which they came out as both gay and a couple of seven and a half years.

The reason for the video and the announcement was for the guys to address the numerous antigay comments they’ve received on their videos.

“Although, in general, our YouTube experience has been extremely phenomenal and supportive, we’ve also experienced a lot of negativity and discussions around our sexuality. And therefore we felt the need to sort of come again,” Brown says in the video, noting that both he and Moffit have been out, proud gay men since “late high school.”

“Part of our mission with AsapSCIENCE has been to make it as inclusive and accessible as possible, and that’s not only through relatable topics or humor, but also by breaking down gender stereotypes and using drawings that represent … different stick-figure family orientations,” Moffit adds. “Because that’s the way the world is and we think that the enjoyment of the scientific exploration process should be available to everyone.”

Confederate Heritage and Pride News and Views

    in History

Tonight im going to promote some pages on Facebook. Some people who deserve recognition for the work

A Confederate page where you can Express Your Southern Pride! God BLESS DIXIE AND THE REBEL FLA...G AND ALL OF THE

CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS WHO DIED FOR OUR SOUTHERN STATES. Keep those flags flying high and proud!

No, I'm no more racist than the next person. The fact is that the War between the states A had very little to do with slavery. In fact, it had nothing to with slavery until 1863 when Lincoln used it as a political agenda to save his sorry, dictator wannabe butt.

The War Between the States was about state rights. The north was imposing tariffs out the wazoo on the south. Illegal tariffs, I might add.

Sure, the south wasn't perfect; who is? All I'm saying is that they were the ones ultimately in the right in that 19th century fiasco and they took the flack for it because the winners write the history books. No the true history is written by warriors.

If you want to argue with me, please, argue intelligently. I loath hippies.
Just remember two things: 1) THE NORTHERN STATES HAD MANY SLAVES; 2)The emancipation proclamation claimed (because it had no legal authority) to free only the slaves in the "rebelling states." Northerners were free to keep their slaves until the 13th Amendment.

    Deo Vindice!

I SALUTE THE CONFEDERATE FLAG WITH AFFECTION, REVERENCE AND
UNDYING DEVOTION TO THE CAUSE FOR WHICH IT STANDS.

    Commemorating Gay Pride Month

    in Parents

June is Gay Pride Month. Today and for the next three shows we will  commemorate the progress the LGBT movement for equal rights has made. In recalling the beginning of the modern gay rights movement in 1969, marked by the Stonewall riots, we will discuss the main concerns of the LGBT community today. Today’s guest is Andy Humm, a gay rights activist since 1974. Andy Humm has been a gay activist since 1974 helping lead the fight for New York City's gay rights bill that passed in 1986 through the efforts of the Coalition for Lesbian and Gay rights and getting explicit AIDS education in the public schools in the 1990s through his work as director of education at the Hetrick-Martin Institute for LGBT youth. A lifelong journalist as well, he has co-hosted the national "Gay USA" television program weekly since 1985 and writes regularly for the Gay City News and Gotham Gazette. Andy Humm was host of WNET-TV's "Informed Sources" weekly reporters' roundtable in the 1990s. Mr. Humm's work has also appeared in the NY Times, Daily News, and Post.
