Garnet Schulhauser, Mens Spiritual Radio Show, Tues, Nov 18, 8pm ET

    in Spirituality

Garnet Schulhauser practiced corporate law with two large law firms in Calgary, Canada for 34 years before retiring to Vancouver Island in 2008, where he now lives with his wife, Cathy, and little dog, Abby. He grew up on a small farm in Saskatchewan and attended law school in Saskatoon before moving to Calgary to begin his legal career. Although he did not begin writing until after retiring from his legal practice, he now pursues his new career with a passion. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, kayaking, and long hikes in the forest with Abby. He takes great delight in family gatherings with his two sons, Blake and Colin, and their partners, Lauren and Bergis, and granddaughter Kymera.

Garnet’s life changed dramatically one day in 2007 when he was confronted on the street by a homeless man named Albert. Over the next few years he had a series of conversations with Albert (who was actually a wise spirit guide in disguise) who disclosed startling new truths about life, death, the afterlife, and God. Albert answered all of life’s “big questions” about who we are, our purpose for being on Earth, and what happens to us after we die. Albert’s revelations were inspiring, uplifting, and comforting, and flew in the face of almost everything that Christian holy men had been preaching for centuries. He wrote Dancing on a Stamp at Albert’s request so that these revelations would be available to everyone.

Garnet Silk "Garnet Damion Smith"celebration -Aaron&Family

    in Music

Garnet Silk, born Garnet Damion Smith in Jamaica, he became one of reggae's most promising cultural artists. His first major hit "Hello Africa".Drawing inspiration from the Bob Marley and Burning Spear he started his recording career in 1985. It was actually dub poet Yasus Afari who hooked up Garnet with Delroy "Callo" Collins who produced his first single, "Problem Everywhere".
Comparisons were inevitable drawn with the late Bob Marley, and some even called him "the next Bob Marley," but Garnet Silk was the first to shun the title. "I see Bob as the king of Reggae and a brother," Garnet said in a January 1994 Reggae Report interview. "Bob has done his work and now Jah appoints me to do mine, just like Bob."
Garnet’s final performance was at the Mirage nightclub in Kingston, he was part of Richie Stephens’ birthday celebration on the Tuesday night before the tragedy took place. Garnet  left to see his mother and from this point there's no-one to tell exactly what happened on that night as all the survivors were sleeping and woke up only with the explosion  at his mother’s  house around midnight. It is told that a friend was showing Garnet how to use a shotgun when it accidentally went off, striking a nearby cooking gas cylinder. That night, the errant gun blast ignited the gas cylinder, effectively giving rise to a lethal blowtorch. Garnet Silk, his two brothers and two friends managed to escape. However, when Garnet realized his mother was still trapped inside, he re-entered the inferno. Neither of them survived. Although sorely missed Garnet Silk will live forever through his music and message!
