The Seattle Shorts Film Festival Celebrates 5 Years by Doubling in Size Seattle Shorts Film Festival returns in 2015 with twice the number of exceptional films to showcase for local audiences. After record breaking submissions, filmmaker attendance, and sold out screenings last year, the 5- year-old festival has expanded to two days, November 14th and 15th. The weekend will be bring film lovers together through Q&A’s, networking events, and an awards ceremony on Sunday the 15th. Corrina & Jack Drury founded the film festival in NYC, fall of 2013 to provide a home for motorcycle films from around the world. Moto film enthusiasts gather to discuss, celebrate and show their films about their favorite subject, motorcycles! Films such as “Why We Ride” and Dream Racer” have gotten recognized as a result of the exposure they received at the Festival. Tutwiler is a film that sheds light on the treatment of inmates at Julia Tutwiler Prison in Wetumpka, AL. It's based on actual events that have happened within the prison. It follows Lori, who is serving twenty years for vehicular manslaughter while drunk driving. While she is incarcerated she is raped by a security guard and becomes pregnant. The film picks up with Lori trying to navigate her relationship with her daughter Shay, while surviving life in unbearable conditions.
