How To Grow Award Winning Roses Organically

    in Environment

Roses are always the centerpiece of every well manicured garden. They can be a challenge at times but the rewards are great. Due to concerns about the harsh chemicals used to help cultivate these high maintenance plants, more and more gardeners are seeking advice from Rosarians to help them grow beautiful roses organically. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to award winning Rosarian and author, Susan Fox, founder of Gaga's Garden. Biographical Sketch: As an avid horticulturist holding national awards for growing prize winning roses and award winning gardens, Gaga will share her knowledge with you. A master in the art of rose growing and garden design Gaga's expertise includes speaking on growing and the care of roses to the Plano and Dallas Master Gardeners Groups. During her tenure as treasurer of the Northeastern Illinois Rose Society, her society was instrumental in having the rose named as the national flower by the President of the United States. As an avid gardener, speaker and consulting rosarian, Gaga is dedicated to perpetuating knowledge growing things the organic way in our gardens and particularly the planting and care of rose gardens. She is a past member of the board of the Dallas Rose Society and the Northeastern Illinois Rose Society. How To Create A Mini Fairy Themed Garden With Roses

    in Environment

Fairy Gardens are extremely popular right now, especially with so many films like The Hobbit, Into The Woods, Maleficent, Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters, Frozen and so many other fantasy themed films which have had a tremendous influence on moviegoers. These films have inspired some of the most amazing miniature gardens. Contrary to full sized themed gardens, they are actually very easy to build, even with minimal space and a limited budget! What makes them even more spectacular is the element of minature roses!

What are some easy to grow miniature roses selections that are perfect for a fairy garden? How can you incorporate recycled elements and repurpose others? Tune in to find out! In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to award winning Rosarian, Susan Fox, founder of Gaga’s Garden about what you need to know to build your own miniature fairy garden with roses.

Learn about Straw Bale Gardening with My Guest, Author Joel Karnsten

    in Prepping

I had the honor of interviewing Joel and leaving tremendously encouraged about this method of gardening. As I think and prepare for my elderly years, gardening is not something I am willing to give up simply due to physical limitations and straw bale gardening sounds just like the ticket to keep at it! It is not only for the 'seasoned' gardener, as Joel puts it, but it is great for so many other circumstances and living environments.

He is going to be one of the speakers you can learn from FOR FREE at the Home Grown Food Summit! (bit.ly/HomeGrownFoodSummit) But you'll want to register SOON . You'll see several people with whom you are likely familiar.

    Composting and Hay Bale Gardening

    in Politics Conservative

One of the secrets to a great garden is what you feed it. You control the garden's diet and what you get out of it is directly related to what you put into it. Composting is going to be a key ingredient to feeding your garden, keeping the soil alive and healthy, and making sure you are reusing the stuff that is coing out of the home rather than adding it to the refuse mountains growing around the nation.

We will also discuss "Hay Bale Gardening". This is the method of using bales of straw as containers to hold and grow your plants. When I first heard about this, I thought it was just kind of a lazy urban thing that was trending, but as I continue to study and learn about it, I find it is a really great way to add to your gardening skills for a good many reasons.

We always want to have you share your gardening, or any other skills oyu have, with the listeners. You can do this by calling in to 347-308-8790 and speaking with the call screener.

    Hope to see you there!
