Andrew Graham rejoins Sean Comer and Mark Radulich as they review Peter Jackson's second trip to Middle Earth, The Hobbit. Since BTR cut off our show 2 weeks ago, we'll spend a few minutes concluding our discussion of Return of the King. After that we'll dive right into all the pre-production issues that plagued the Hobbit Trilogy. We'll talk about the special editions and debate whether Jackson should have tried to keep it to 2 movies
The Hobbit is a film series consisting of three high fantasy adventure films directed by Peter Jackson. They are based on the 1937 novel The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, with large portions of the trilogy inspired by the appendices to The Return of the King, which expand on the story told in The Hobbit, as well as new material and characters written especially for the films. The films are subtitled An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Desolation of Smaug (2013), and The Battle of the Five Armies (2014).
While Frodo and Sam edge closer to Mordor with the help of the shifty Gollum, the divided fellowship makes a stand against Sauron's new ally, Saruman, and his hordes of Isengard.

We chat about what fictional family we'd love to be a part of and play two of our favorite games: Geeky Audition and Geeky Accents! We improv scenes with Gandalf, Spock, and Luna Lovegood plotting to become the main characters in their respective universes and Han Solo giving Joey Tribbiani from Friends advice on how to pick up women. And then do the worst accents you'll ever hear pretending to be different scif-fi, fantasy, and comic book characters!
Plus the gang from hilarious series The Other Kennedys swings by to play along with us, talk the Fantastic Four and Marvel movies, and get into other geeky shenanigans!
A meek hobbit of the Shire and eight companions set out on a journey to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring and the dark lord Sauron.
Director: Peter Jackson Writers: J.R.R. Tolkien (novel), Fran Walsh (screenplay)
Stars: Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom
