Billy H. reaches into his toolbox for another tool that maybe you've never heard of before....and it's not a hammer. Although depending on the addiction hammers are sometimes useful in recovery:)
Since its inception the US government has tried to put stop online gambling in the US. Yet it has failed to slow, much less stop its spread. With the emergence of paid fantasy football sites which advertise their games on TV such as Fan Duel, not to mention New Jersey casinos ofering legalized online casino gaming, is it any wonder that this industry is anything but a bad bet to developers and operators alike? Still, the feds persist in doing everything in their power to put the brakes on one of the most lucrative online industries ever created. In this episode of Working the Web to Win we will look at the evolution and valuation of the online casino industry. Place your bets!
I know a lifelong church member who found fame through the back door. David Choe became a talented artist in his own right but then when he interloped commercially with Facebook, his life changed. His exchange of wall art for stocks exploded years later and he was worth $200 million. Then his passions even became wilder and he went to far places of the world to satisfy his needs. When he fell into gambling, his perspective really became jaded. I will share some of his story and parallel it with what I learned from having my own gambling addiction.

Brian Keith Noonan interviewing James Ewing about how he handles his addictive tendencies and achieves success in business and life.
In the Book of Acts there's a story where the apostle Paul got in trouble with the city fathers when he opposed Demetrius the silversmith and his idol business and preached Christ instead of the godess Diana..
Now today in these end times we aren't dealing with Demetrius the silversmith and the idols made to the goddess Diana, we face the onslaught of legalized gambling and the god Mammon.
The Bible doesn't have a specific commandment against gambling however, in this study we will learn how it transgresses 4 Godly and Biblical principles: honesty, love, work and providence.

Addictions come in many forms. People compulsively use drugs, gamble, shop, use social media, and engage in sex. Nearly always, this is done in reaction to being emotionally stressed, whether or not there is a physical condition present. We won't consider the debate regarding whether addiction is a "disease." We will, however, consider the power and purpose of using spirituality as a healing tool.
Why is spirituality such a wonderful force for good? One reason is that it recognizes there’s a power governing the universe that is greater than the limitations of the self. There’s a belief in an interconnectedness of all living beings. The desire and pursuit of understanding, peace, self-knowledge, meaning, and purpose in one’s life becomes primary goals for those on a spiritual path. It is this quest that can help those suffering from addiction find freedom.
What are you addicted to? Consider this as we discuss how walking a consistent spiritual path can help you!
