Tonight we're remembering our friend and author Nick Kisella, who passed away suddenly just under a week ago from today, just after returning home from making yet another splash at New Jersey's Chiller Theater and debuting his latest novel, The Eyes of the Jackal, leaving his family and many, many fans and loved ones devastated and dumbfounded over the abrupt loss of this great man. We're also going to be making listeners aware of the charity projects and fundraisers for his family currently in progress, and hearing from many who were close to him and who were inspired by his life and works.
Nick Kisella grew up in Manville, New Jersey, where he began writing fantasy and horror while attending high school. Some of his first published work appeared in the Indie magazines ‘Dreadknight’, and ‘The Nocturnal Lyric’. Since then his work has appeared in various forms from print and online magazines to blogs. Some of his more recent work includes a screenplay and novelization for ‘Nifty Entertainment’ a California based Indie production company, as well as getting the first two fantasy novels he wrote as a teen,‘The Chalice of Souls’ and ‘Death and the Doomweaver’ back in print for the sheer nostalgia of it. ‘Morningstars’, his first full-length horror novel was published by Black Bed Sheet Books in 2012. ‘The Beasts and the Walking Dead’ a post-apocalyptic fiction novel, has also been published by Black Bed Sheet Books and is the first part of a series. PK Burian is a published author with over 29 books specializing in the Young Adult Paranormal and Fantasy genre. She has extensive knowledge in all areas of the paranormal from Bigfoot to ghosts, and a great love for fantasy and mysteries. Mixing the paranormal with imagination, mystery, adventure, and suspense enables her to bring characters to life through own personal experiences.
PK Burian has been writing for twenty-five years, but created stories in her mind from the time she was a small child. She began her career in romance, then changed to Young Adult when her son in-law, Jake needed a double-lung transplant.
She and her daughter, ME Drewry, co-writer of Dangerous Magic and wife of Jake were brainstorming ideas for fundraisers for his $1.2 million dollar operation when they came up with the idea for a young adult paranormal ebook. PK and ME were huge fans of Jim Butcher’s, The Dresden Files book series and thought it would be cool if there was a teen Dresden-like character. And that’s how David Finkleman and the series were born.
Recently she launched a three book series based on the character of David Finkleman, an undercover FBI wizard! The series is filled with magic, monsters, myth, mystical creatures, and mad love.
