Elected MP for Glasgow Hillhead in 1987. Expelled from the Labour Party in 2003 over his stance on Iraq, and the following year co-founded the Respect Party. Won Bethnal Green in 2005 election, but at the 2010 election lost out in Poplar and Limehouse. This week he won Bradford West. Galloway opposed the 1991 gulf war and was critical of the effect that the subsequint santions had on the people of Iraq. In a 28 March 2003 interview that Tony Blair and George W. Bush had "lied to the British Air Force and Navy, when they said the battle of Iraq would be very quick and easy. They attacked Iraq like wolves. ..." and added, "... the best thing British troops can do is to refuse to obey illegal orders. This incitement was later among the formal reasons for his expulsion from the Labour Party. He called the Labour Government "Tony Blair's lie machine
In May 2005, a US Senate committee report accused Galloway along with former French minister Charles Pasqua of receiving the right to buy oil under the UN's oil-for-food scheme. On arriving in the US, he told Reuters, "I have no expectation of justice from a group of Christian fundamentalist and Zionist activists." Galloway described Coleman as a "pro-war, neocon hawk and the lickspittle of George W. Bush," who, he said, sought vengeance against anyone who did not support the war in Iraq.

Right-wing media are claiming that a Republican "War on Women" is phony and invented by the left to distract attention from issues such as the economy and gas prices, but Republicans throughout the country have indeed pushed a plethora of legislation during the past few years that would result in limiting women's reproductive rights, access to health care access, and access to equal pay. Is this an excuse to introduce a more fundamentalist religious way of life into every aspect of our society? Have the GOP Republicans becomes America's version of the taliban, determined to set women back 100 years and back in her "place?" Is this "War on Women" real and how can we fight political ideology? Tonight we welcome both sides of the debate as open this discussion.

Despite the reporting over the years that spanking is for naught, many parents still seem to do it. More than half of the mothers questioned in the Pediatrics study reported spanking their kids at age 3 and at age 5. Spanking teaches hitting, it's that simple So that if you don't get your way and you're bigger than me, you can hit me to get your way. That's the lesson of spanking.
A national survey showed more than half of women and three-quarters of men in the United States believe a child sometimes needs a "good hard spanking.
The majority of parents say they spank their kids. Various factors increase the likelihood, including geographic location (children in the South are spanked the most), family income (less money means more spanking), race (African-American mothers spank their children more than other ethnic groups), and religion (parents more fundamentalist in their religious beliefs spank more than those who are less so). But all in all, it's a pretty clear picture
94% of 3- and 4-year-olds have been spanked at least once during the past year, according to one study
74% of mothers believe spanking is acceptable for kids ages 1 to 3, says another study
61% of parents condone spanking as a "regular form of punishment" for young children, according to a different study
So if hard numbers can't prove that spanking is good or bad or safe or dangerous, perhaps it's not a data issue to begin with. The question of whether spanking works, or is safe, is beside the point. Maybe the question should be "Is it really, absolutely necessary?"
Marion Pember, author of "God in a Box" is recovering fundamentalist with many a tale to tell. He's a much decorated Army Chaplain, a scholar, a philosopher, a teacher and a clown. And that's only for starters!
Travel with Marion Pember from a Kansas farm to Germany, Vietnam as an Army chaplain. His most courageous voyage was from a fundamentalist background through skepticism, emerging triumphantly as author of "God in a Box " an eloquent exploration of what it means to really believe in God instead of religion. Through it all he learned how to have fun. His hobby? Clowning!
Linda Summer, Determining God’s Will For You
to discuss how we determine what God’s Will is for each one of us. We will explore traditional religiosity and New Thought Metaphysics with a woman well versed on both sides of that coin. Linda is the ex wife of a devout fundamentalist preacher until their divorce forced her to explore what Spirituality is all about and how we can through our “Spiritual Discontent” awaken to the reality of where it is that we need to be and what we need to do. Together with her twin sister, Brenda, they have written their spiritual autobiography, The Living Code—Deciphering Life’s Spiritual Messages by Learning to Live From the Heart.
Linda lives north of Conway, AR and has retired from the business world. She is an ordained interfaith minister and graduated from Sancta Sophia Seminary in 1998. In the early 90’s she trained with Dr. Bill Baldwin, author of “Spirit Releasement Therapy” and also began a two year training with her inner guides to develop her clairvoyance and a spiritual healing system she calls INNER-gy Touch. WHO are the descendants of Abraham today, and why does it matter? Both Bible and Qu'ran make competing claims on this, and though it is mainly a RELIGIOUS question, it impacts American foreign policy, the conduct of Israelis towards their land, fundamentalist Islamic ambitions, and is fueling the substantial Muslim outrage towards towards Israel and the West. Within the evangelical wing of American Protestants, there is a two-fold division on this question. And this is not an "in-house" argument anymore just among Evangelicals debating points of doctrine and eschatology. Rather, it affects the way the Christian faith and the gospel is interpreted TODAY by Muslims, Jews, and the rest of the world. Tonight we'll talk about this. Your host: Rev. Rick Anderson on "Jewish Roots", Internet radio pod-cast, each Thursday at 9:30 PM at www.scripturesdramatized.com and www.blogtalkradio.com/fougcrew. To call in with question or comment: 347-324-5759.
Tonight Sinead has on Jeanice Barcelo. Jeanice is a birth activist, a whistleblower, and someone who is concerned with all things that limit or undermine human potential and human love. She is an outspoken leader in the movement to get birth out of the hospitals and back into the home. She is also extremely concerned about things like vaccines, GMO foods, chemtrails, nuclear power and radiation, child abuse, ography, animal abuse, technologically-managed pregnancy and childbirth, and the satanic takeover of our planet. Her use of the word "satanic" has nothing to do with her being a fundamentalist Christian, and everything to do with her awareness that there are people in very high positions of power who worship evil and who will stop at nothing to create chaos, suffering, deprivation, and destruction of our host planet and all of life.
There is a crisis happening in the Middle East, and parts of it are about ISIS (Islamic Fundamentalist) killing Christians - both adults and children while the western parts of the world sit idly by and watch it happen. Join Marcos as he explains and examines the current sad situation, and informs us on how to take action against it.

Terry L. Cook is a fundamentalist Christian intelligence analyst and a retired Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff/criminal investigator. He also is a former State of California Deputy Real Estate Commissioner/fraud investigator, a Vietnam-War veteran and a former California National Guard Officer (in anti-communist intelligence). He holds A.A., A.S., B.A., and B.S. degrees. He also holds California State teaching credentials in a variety of subjects and has completed some postgraduate study in theology. Terry is licensed by the FAA as an Airline Transport Jet Pilot (ATP commercial jet) and flight instructor with 3000 hours total flight-time as well.
For the past 25 years, Mr. Cook, an ordained Christian minister of the gospel, has been investigating current geopolitical events as they relate to the fulfillment of “last-days” or “end-times” Bible prophecies, with an emphasis on New-World-Order geopolitics, biometric identification technology and biochip transponder ID implants regarding the Mark-of-the-Beast (666). He has authored numerous books and produced several educational videos during that time.
His first book, The Mark Of The New World Order, originally published in 1994, has been twice republished since then. Terry is accepted widely as an authority in this field and is much in demand as a speaker in churches and other lecture forums nationwide, including appearances and interviews on television and radio internationally. In fact, Terry appeared on the prestigious H2 History-Channel’s 2012 six-part international TV special titled, Countdown-To-Apocalypse, The Four Horsemen show aired in November 2012.
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation is one of America’s most powerful legal action groups. It was formed to defend military personnel from religious discrimination brought about by, for the most part, fundamentalist Christians.
The MRFF’s leader, Cap. Michael L. Weinstein, has generated extreme controversy. A retired Air Force Judge Advocate General who served in the Reagan Administration, he often finds himself in the sights of major Religious Right organizations and personalities. Their attacks on him have gone far beyond the professional, and certain news outlets sometimes join in the fray.
All of this makes it very difficult to identify facts about the MRFF and its work. Just what exactly is going on?
Some claim that the MRFF clamps down on the rights of Christians who wish to do nothing more than express their religious beliefs around others. The Foundation has been subject to highly critical coverage from right-leaning media outlets. What can be said about their interpretations of the Foundation’s work? At any rate, it seems that religious proselytization isn’t just a serious issue facing the military today, but one which has been lurking among shadows for some time. Why does offensive theological rhetoric surface so often among military personnel?
Weinstein shares his views about all of this and more.
Reba Riley is the debut author of Post-Traumatic Church Syndrome: A Memoir of Humor & Healing In 30 Religions, the founder of the Post-Traumatic Church Syndrome community online, and a blogger at Patheos.com
Reba grew up in a fundamentalist Christian home where the wallpaper & dinner napkins featured Bible verses, & the Smurfs were considered demonic. She told her kindergarten class the letters of Santa's name could be arranged to "Satan." Reba’s 10,000 hours of education included evangelical schools, Christian college followed by a stint at the Focus of the Family Institute with Dr. James Dobson, and an intensive ministry training program at a megachurch in Colorado Springs—a program that swiftly kicked her out when she shared her religious doubts with the leadership. Reba lost everything - including herself. Enter Post-Traumatic Church Syndrome.
Reba got sick. Really sick. With a near-debilitating chronic mystery illness doctors couldn’t diagnose or treat. At 29, the illness made her vulnerable enough that she finally had to face the fact she’d avoided for the better part of a decade: her spirit was sicker than her body. Reba decided to undertake a spiritual recovery program: she would visit thirty religions before her thirtieth birthday—not to find a religion, but to find peace.
Through her adventures, Reba realized she didn’t have to choose religion to choose God…or good. She discovered sometimes we have to get lost to get found. Two years after completing her thirty religions project and eighteen months after recovering from her illness, Reba is here to share dispatches from her journey of healing.
