    2015 Chevy Impala Bi-Fuel

    in Automotive

Noted automotive journalist ALAN GELL had a week-long test-drive of a 2015 Chevrolet Impala Bi-Fuel sedan a few months ago.  This car ran on CNG -- compressed natural gas.  CNG is here, but not really widespread.  CNG is a mixture of Biogas and methane gas.

Alan recorded a discriptive analysis of his week-long test-drive for KBPC-FM radio.  It is repeated here for this segment of BlogTalk Radio.  Bottom line:  The car worked well and Alan looks forward to more vehicles running on CNG.

GOD'S WORD, FUEL FOR OUR FAITH!

    in Spirituality

WHAT FUEL ARE YOU USING? HEBREWS 4:1-2 SAYS,

HEBREWS 4:1-2, Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. 2For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. 3For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST," although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.…

WE HAVE TO REMEMBER, THAT WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD.

Most Christians do not need to hear another sermon. We have had more than enough sermons to change the world, but it has not happened. The main reason is because we have not been challenged to act on the word. The word preached should inspire sufficient faith within us to step out and act on what the Holy Spirit gives us to do. Faith is an action word: “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves” (James 1:22  ).
Verse 2 – “For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they
heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.” Your faith is the
active ingredient that, when added to God’s Word, causes that Word to come to pass in your life. We are without excuse. We go to church, just going through the motions. Let's stop and think God is soon to come.

Shift Focus: Fuel It Up (don't work it off)

    in Nutrition

Notice a lot of the verbiage from individuals around the holidays. You may hear things such as, "I ate way too many cookies last night; I have to work it off today." Or something like, "I know I'm going to overeat/drink during the holidays, so, I better make sure I work it off." If an individual is looking to achieve their health, fitness and body composition goals, they have to change the focus from "work it off" to the focus of, "fuel it up."

When we have the "work it off" mindset, we are simply trying to right a wrong and this will backfire each and every time. We want to shift our focus to fueling the body properly, even if we did slip up and consume far too many solid and/or liquid calories during the holiday parties.
