About Venture Capital
The Wall Street Geek is hosted by financial expert Michelle Price, Managing Pricipal of fee only financial advisor Price Capital LLC in NYC and the author of "How to Buy Stocks Online" (available at Amazon).
The angel and venture capital (e.g., VC) worlds are like the Wizard of Oz. They’re so cloaked in secrecy that most people don’t know what VC’s and angels do until one is about to get equity in your business.
Shows like Shark Tank give a peek behind the curtain. But Shark Tank only scratches the surface.
If you’re a business owner, how does the funding process work? What are venture capitalists and angel investors looking for when they read your business plan? If you’re looking to become an employee at a VC or angel investing firm, how do you make the transition?
Keep listening. I’ve got the inside scoop on all of these questions.

Western Women and Foreign Brides
Thousands of American men can be found online railing against feminism and the modern American woman. Their chief complaints: (1) Western women have no concept of how to treat a man; (2) feminism has destroyed men and the family; and (3) Western women don't know what it takes to be a "real" wife. Their suggested solution is that men look for a wife in Asia, Russia, Africa or South America.
Who are these men? Are they social misfits that can't handle a woman that demands consideration and a balance of power in the relationship? Are they broke so women consider them poor husband material? Or could it be that these are professional, wealthy, educated men that want a wife that won't challenge them in any way and just augment their existence?
Most of the foreign bride websites and catalogs emphasize how these women have strong family values, and know how to make a man "feel like a king." It appears that a great many men long for that kind of acknowledgement and a return to "the old days" when men were revered and served by women.
A recent Today Show poll asked about "femininity" and whether it was tied to traits like being soft, receptive to men's ideas and lead, and submissive." The majority of the Today Show audience said yes - 56%. About 25% felt the answer was somewhere in the middle, and only 19% disagreed.
Does this mean Western women are not viewed as "feminine" by the majority of men? Could this be why our marriage rate is declining?
Join us to discuss the pros and cons of the foreign bride market and what it means for American women. Call 347-327-9215 to share your thoughts!

H1B - Permanent Foreign Labor Certification
Please read for yourself. The Permanent Foreign Labor Certification program lawfully brings in foreign workers. Jobs offered to foreign workers should be jobs made available to American currently seeking jobs, and to American currently employed who could experience an increase in pay and or promotions by being hired to do these jobs. Government officials making these jobs available may see these jobs as low wage jobs Americans can't or won't do. Nothing is farther from truth. Read for yours self.
Overview: 2009 annual report
"The OFLC administers the PERM program, where employers whit a current need may obtain certification for a permanent position that they have been unable to successfully fill with a domestic worker. With the exception of certain occupational sectors, employers must obtain an approved and valid labor certification from Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) before they can submit a permanent resident immigration petition to Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As part of the labor certification application process, employers must perform a labor market test to determine whether qualified U.S. workers are able, willing, and available in the area where the job will be performed. Employers also must demonstrate that employment of the foreign worker will not adversely affect the wages and working conditions of U.S. workers similarly employed, and they must pay the foreign worker at least the prevailing wage for the occupation. These and other program-related conditions must be met prior to the OFLC granting a permanent labor certification".

Is she boring if she aint foreign?
What is this fascination that men especially black men have about foreign women? Supposedly they are more submissive and treat their men like kings. Some men even think that they are more exotic and more spontaneous and outgoing than domestic women. Is this all a myth or is there some truth to it? So which do you prefer, foreign or domestic?
