The Forbidden Fruit Goes Back To The Future

    in Technology

This installment of The Forbidden Fruit won't need a flux capacitor to look in to the future of technology of where we're headed and where we should already be by now. What's the hold up? Why is fosil fuel still the BMOC? Who killed the electric car and who is bringing it back to life. Some of us grew up watching great science fictions shows like The Jetsons, so where the fuck is my car that folds in a briefcase? Where are we headed? Is the future bright or is it cloudy with a chance of rain. Let's talk about it here on The Fruit!

White Privilege....The Greatest Con Game on Mankind!

    in History

This installment of The Forbidden Fruit will discuss the origin of white privilege and how it has adversely affected all races in America, including the "white race". Some people want to deny the existence of white privilege. White privilege comes in many forms. White Privilege can be as invisable and deadly as Carbon Monoxide, and as obvious and destructive as an atomic bomb. The conception of White Privilege is deeply rooted in the old strategy of Divide & Conquer. The enemy you were taught to hate, may not be the enemy at all.

The Furiously Fabulous Super Gay Celebration

    in Politics

Last Friday, [most of] the Supreme Court ruled on the right side of history. Since this country was founded, an entire group of people have been marginalized and disenfranchised. Loved ones were barred from visiting their ill partners in hospitals. Basic tax and social benefits were denied. Appeals fell on deaf ears or were held up in the bureaucracy indefinitely. Today, The Fruit is proud to say that America has taken a giant leap toward equality for all. Friday's 5-4 decision to legalize marriage in all states and territories, did not come without it's share of criticism, however. Opponents decried that five unelected lawyers do not have the authority to decide the will of the American people, while others slammed the Justices for rewriting the Constitution. Some Republican hopefuls [*cough* Huckabee *cough*] even said that the Supreme Court “cannot overrule [g]od” on gay marriage. Many have lambasted the Court's ruling with warnings of [g]od's wrath or the coming persecution of Christians. To those grumbling about marriage equality, The Forbidden Fruit crew has one thing to say to you. Love wins! You lose! Get over it! Call in and tell us how you celebrated the ruling or why you think it was a mistake.

Fuck The Confederate Flag And The General Lee It Road In On

    in Current Events

This installment of The Forbidden Fruit will tackle the controversy surrounding the Confederate Flag and why some people are trying so desperately to hold on to it. Some or should I say, most consider it a symbol of hate and racism, while some feel it's a symbol of everything but. A wave of corporations are dropping the flag like it's hot. Even Warner Brothers is killing the Dukes of Hazard's General Lee, Dodge Charger toy car. Think about it, the General Lee car was named after the General Robert E. Lee, the commanding General of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia in the American Civil War. The side of the war that proudly flew the Confederate flag and wanted to preserve slavery and keep black people in bondage. So in other words, FUCK the Confederate flag and the General Lee it road in on!

The Racist Radio Network Is Live And On The Air!

    in Comedy

This installment of The Forbidden Fruit was inspired by a negative iTunes review we received in May of 2015. This review wasn't just a sentence or two, it was damn near a short novel. LOL The hate was strong in this one. In light of that, we've decided to have some fun with it and explore our racist side. Are we really that racist and bigoted here on The Fruit with our diverse band of characters you hear every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30pm? Hmmmm, well are we? If you'd like to read the review, it can be found on iTunes and on our Facebook pages. Please call in if your want to participate.

Hey Mr. Officer, There Are Way Too Many Darkies In Our Cement Pond!

    in Current Events

This installment of The Forbidden Fruit will discuss the police brutality targeted at black teens attending a pool party in a predominately white Dallas, TX suburb. You've probably already seen the disturbing video footage of a white police officer throwing an unarmed teenage girl to the sidewalk and ground and then placing his knee in her back as he holds her to the ground. When concern blacks come to her aid, he immediately draws his gun and aims it at them, ready to shoot. The officer was placed on administrative leave and thankfully no teens were shot or killed by these savage men in blue. What do you think? Call in and express yourself here on The Fruit!

Beautiful Butterfly Welcomes Author of Forbidden Love Kendra Graves

    in Books

On This Episode of The Beautiful Butterfly Show We Welcome Special Guest Author of "Forbidden Love"  Kendra Graves. This is Kendra's first time on the show, so we are Excited to hear about this new author and the great works she has and will provide to the listeners and readers! Enjoy!

About Author Kendra Graves- Born and raised in Hartford Ct, I am 29 years young and a mother to my first born, my heart, my daughter Khaniyah. I always had a passion for writing. It all started at the age of 10 when I found myself alone in my bedroom and would write raps. From there I branched off and started writing poems but I found it didn't work for me. I gave it a rest for a few years and started back reading and writing at 15. My teachers always told me I was gifted. In school I would ace my writing exams. In highschool I read many books but it never occurred to me to write my own. I kept a journal of stories that happened to me, but never told my story. I graduated from highschool in 2004 and went on to cosmetology school because doing hair was my second passion. Shortly after entering into the field I had to leave school because I couldn't work with the chemical because my skin was to sensitive. I didn't know what else to do with myself so for a few years I tried to find something that worked for me. In 2010 I told myself I'm going back to school but It was all put on hold because I couldn't go as an independent student at 24. Once I turned 25 I enrolled in Kaplan university where I studied criminal justice. I made the dean's list every semester and presidents list my final semester. I graduated with my Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice in 2013 with a 3.91 gpa. Still trying to find myself in the field of my study is where I fumbled upon writing again in October 2014.

Come On Out Of The Atheist Closet, The Water Is Fine!

    in Atheism

This installment of The Forbidden Fruit will discuss how hard it is or isn't to come out of the Atheist Closet. Is that the hardest closet to come out of? For some it's relatively easy and for others it's not quite that simple. If your faith is tied to your livelyhood, then it's a harder decision than most. How does one accomplish this feat unscathed? Would anouncing your atheism make you the black sheep of the family? Does closet atheist hender the progress of the atheist movement? How do we move closer to eradicating  this virus of religion? What are your thoughts?
