IMAGINE A WORLD OF UNLIMITED RESOURCES AND MONEY WHERE WE COULD ALL DO AS MUCH AS WE WANT AND USE AS MUCH AS WE WANT WITHOUT EVERY HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT RUNNING OUT OF WHAT WE WANT. I THINK WE'D PROBABLY HAVE TO BE IN HEAVEN TO HAVE SUCH AN OPPORTUNITY BUT, THEN AGAIN, WE OFTEN LIVE TODAY AS IF THINGS ARE UNLIMITED.
FOOD, SUPPLIES, GOVERNMENT SERVICES, CARS, HOMES, LAND AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT MONEY CAN BUY TODAY IS A SUPPLY AND DEMAND SITUATION. WHEN SUPPLY OUTPACES DEMAND, IT IS EASIER FOR ALL OF US TO GET WHAT WE WANT. WHEN DEMAND IS GREATER, THE OPPOSITE APPLIES, YET WE OFTEN LIVE AS IF THERE ARE NO LIMITS UNTIL WE HIT THE BRICK WALL: WE CAN'T AFFORD IT OR WE CAN'T GET IT. AND THE WORST OF IT IS THAT BY THAT POINT WE ARE OUT OF THE ONE ITEM, MONEY, THAT IS NEEDED. THIS APPLIES TO INDIVIDUALS, BUSINESS AND GOVERNMENT.
TONIGHT WE'LL TALK A LITTLE ABOUT FACING REALITY: IN OUR HOMES, SCHOOLS, WORK, GOVERNMENT, CHURCH AND EVEN LEISURE. LET'S TRY TO TAKE CARE OF OUR REAL NEEDS BEFORE WE GO AFTER THE WANTS. IT WILL SAVE US A LOT OF GRIEF AND A LOT OF AGGRAVATION. SEE YOU TONIGHT AT 9 (ET)
TONIGHT'S SHORT TAKE WILL BE ABOUT A SPECIAL PEEVE OF MINE: THE PERILS OF DINING OUT. AND NO, IN THIS SHORT OPINION PIECE I'M NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE RESTAURANT OR THE WAIT STAFF. LET'S JUST ASSUME THAT THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT, THE SERVICE IS GREAT AND THE AMBIANCE OF THE LAYOUT AND ACCOUTREMENTS OF THE ESTABLISHMENT ARE SUPERB. WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT IS THE BEHAVIOR, PRESENTATION AND ATTITUDE OF SOME OF THE DINERS WHO RUIN A NICE EVENING FOR EVERYONE. I KNOW THAT ALL OF US HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS.
SO JUST IMAGINE....A GREAT RESTAURANT FILLED WITH NICE, WELL MANNERED AND PRESENTABLE PEOPLE WHO RECOGNIZE MY RIGHT AND YOURS NOT TO BE THROWN INTO "GRAND CENTRAL STATION AT RUSH HOUR". IF YOU'RE IN A RUSH THERE ARE PLENTY OF DECENT FAMILY ORIENTED FACILITIES THAT MEET YOUR NEEDS AS WELL AS UNTOLD FAST FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS. THERE ARE ALSO MANY PLACES THAT ESPECIALLY CATER TO KIDS, SO CONSIDER THAT AS WELL.
AS RODNEY DANGERFIELD SAID: "I DON'T GET NO RESPECT". YOU NEVER WANT TO LEAVE A GOOD RESTAURANT FEELING THAT WAY.

DOES IT MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN YOUR PROPERTY TAX ASSESSMENTS AND DID YOU PAY ANY PENALTIES AND FINES ASSESSED FOR NOT FOLLOWING LOCAL, STATE OR FEDERAL REGULATIONS?
SERIOUSLY, FOLKS, IF YOU THINK THAT A HOME IS A MAN'S (OR WOMAN'S) CASTLE, YOU MIGHT FIND YOURSELF IN FOR A HUGE SHOCK. AND TODAY MORE AND MORE DIFFERENT AGENCIES AND OFFICES AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT ARE GETTING IN ON THE GRAVY TRAIN OF TAKING YOUR MONEY FOR HAVING THE PRIVILEGE TO OWN LAND IN THEIR JURISDICTION AND IT IS LIKELY TO ONLY GET WORSE IN THE DAYS AHEAD.
AND IF AND WHEN YOU PAY OFF YOUR MORTGAGE, JUST TRY NOT PAYING PROPERTY TAXES OR OTHER LOCAL ASSESSMENTS AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS? YOU COULD VERY WELL FIND YOURSELF OUT ON THE STREET AND YOU REMAIN AT THE MERCY OF HUNGRY GOVERNMENT AGENCIES THAT ALWAYS WANT TO TAX MORE SO THEY CAN SPEND MORE.
JUST BE AWARE AND MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE RULES BEFORE YOU GET YOURSELF IN A "PICKLE".
