SWAG Radio Presents: Briana Collins and Margret Flack

    in Books

Briana Cole is an Atlanta native and proud mother of two. Having graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2009, she immediately began working for the federal government. Briana enjoys acting and public speaking but writing is her first passion. She has coined the term 'spiceual' to describe her style of writing; a mix of spicy and sensual romance that stimulates the reader mentally, physically, and emotionally. Tired of reading the same type of books in the urban industry, Briana prides herself on bringing unique plots and a distinct voice to the bookshelves. Her debut novel, Heart Breaker, is only the beginning in, what Briana considers, ‘a new experience’ in African-American literature.

Her motto and ultimate drive towards success is a famous quote from Mae West: "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."My name is Margaret Flack and my pen name or other persona is Mz. Demeanor. I am a 32 year old Louisville, Kentucky native (Derby city stand up). In October of 2014 author and CEO of Write House Publishing, Cole Hart signed me. In November 2014 I came out with my first book series called Bout Last Night. As of March 26 My second series A Hood Love in Atlanta was published. When I am not writing I am working on my masters in criminal justice which I will complete in October. I have no children right now just a husband and a very spoiled dog named Gnarls Barkley. I am not sure what the future holds because I allow God to order my steps. I appreciate the blueprint that I have been given and I intend to keep building from it.

The Storm with " A Divine Connection" - The Linton and Louise Smith Story

    in Spirituality

Linton began his musical career at an early age. He began playing the trumpet while in elementary school. As Linton moved through elementary school, the band director noticed Linton’s ability and began giving him lessons.  His musical career continued into his high school days where he playied in the band .

In 1999 he began to play in church worship services and performed special songs on occasion.  Linton’s freshman project Salt Of The Earth Inspiration Volume 1 was released in March 2002. In 2005, Smith released his sophomore CD project called Friend. In 2006 his wife released her debut CD Project, Night Song. Many more musical projects followed for them both.

While Linton Smith Jr. shares his love and annointed gift of playing the trumpet, Louise Smith smoothly renders her voice to the lyrics and engages all who listen to this dynamic duo.

Louise Smith’s earliest recollection of singing and playing the piano was around the age of four. She began playing for the Sunday school Choir at age seven and the church service at nine. She has been a composer since the age of 11.

She has traveled the eastern and mid-western United States and California singing and exhorting the gospel. She has shared the stage with such greats as Lee Williams, Melvin Williams, Richard Smallwood, John P Kee, Donnie Harper and the New Jersey Mass Choir, Helen Baylor and Babbie Mason to name a few. Many have compared Louise’s sound to Roberta Flack, Anita Baker, Patty Paige, Ann Murray, Sarah Vaughan, Tramaine D. Hawkins, and Dannibelle Hall.

Linton and Louise are members of the South Carolina Arts Commission as gospel/jazz performing artists. When accompanied with the smooth vocal stylist of his charming wife Louise Marie, you’ll receive a double portion of expression.

THE COOL CRITICS SATURDAY DECEMBER 19 2015

    in Radio

Valcine came up with a topic - what happened to women?  She's GHETTO stereotypes, of Black Women.  What happened?  Hershel Myers Jr mentioned the HUNG JURY in the Freddie Gray case and the situation with Bernie Sanders, where his campaign was being suspended.  Dave brought to our attention TERRORISM, not just from ISIS, but from Black on Black, White racism, Latin murderers, killers - terrorize means to cause TERROR or FEAR.  Terrorism is more than just a Muslim thing. Aaron reminds us that his "GAY TV" topic where it seems we're being forced to experience the gay agenda whether we want to or not,  and the growing flack against Michael Jordan with his expensive shoes and the fact that he's investing in private prisons yet little in the Black community.  And the commercialism of the Christmas holiday.  And Michael Gay suggested the ETHAN COUCH case, the spoiled 16 year old who killed all those people.  We are sure to talk about several of these, so you'll have to tune it to find out which ones!  347-205-9366. Living In Love: The Power of Life

    in The Bible

We were created to love and to be loved. Most of us see love as a feeling or emotion. And it is. But love is also much more.Love is a consecration of ones heart, soul, and mind to a person, or persons no matter how the other person feels about us. Real, sustaing love, is unconditional. Love can hurt but it doesn't stop. It hurt God to love us. How? God was hurt to see Jesus dying and suffering on the cross for us. But His love didn't stop. This is why the bible say's God first loved us when we did not love Him, or even know Him. God was not waiting for you or me to love Him before He loved us or embraced us.This is love. Jesus said we as believers (followers of Jesus as a lifestyle, not just as a church member) would be known by the love we have for one another (John 13:34-35). One of the greatest characteristics missing from the church today is love for one another. We seem to want God's favor, blessings, and breakthroughs for our problems, more than loving Hom or our neighbor. The greatest commandment in the bible is this: To love the Lord your God (your Creator) with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul, and all your strength. And the second is like unto it; love your neighbor as yourself. There was a song out years ago by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway called "Where Is The Love?". Tune in Today's Broadcast and lets look at "Where Is the Love".
