Mindset: 1. an attitude, disposition, or mood; the ideas and attitudes with which a person approaches a situation, esp when these are seen as being difficult to alter; an intention or inclination.
2. A fixed mental attitude or disposition that predetermines a person's responses to and interpretations of situations; an inclination or a habit.
Do any of these definitions of "mindset" resonate with you? If so, which one(s) and why? What is your definition of "mindset"?
Have you ever heard the term "if you set your mind to it, you can do. . ."? Perhaps you have even used this terminology yourself. The word "mindset" explains:
Why success isn't necessarily a result of intelligence and talent
How intelligence can actually thwart efforts to be successful
Why praising a person's intelligence and talents doesn't necessarily build up self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment, but may actually inhibit them
How simple, uncomplicated systems may actually work better to increase productivity and foster a sense of creativity
What all great thinks and achievers know and use to assure their own empowerment
How raising your level of expectancy can enlarge your vision of what you can accomplish
How changing your mind, giving up negativity and abandoning bad habits can change your life.

Plato imagined a world of ideal forms, that God was in the realm of our being. To Plato, knowledge was innate and just had to be drawn out to a higher way of thinking. Beings were eternal or fixed but the act of becoming was the state of nature changing. He had a vision of a transcendent being that could lead us to goodness and perfect forms. Plato's allegory of the cave will be discussed as well where people could only see shadows cast on the wall & had to go to the source of the sun for enlightenment.

The current state of the black community can't be fixed. It has been broken so long that generations deem the broken state normal. Sometime things must die to bring in something new and better. This show will focus on letting go the old to make room for the new. We will also discuss things we need to do to build a greater community
I have heard this used not only on me but even the President. Its is a real shame that most black people are stuck in the past still worried about slavery. Telling stories about how bad it was back then. Well how in the hell would you know ??/ That is my question. Black people are so fixed on looking backward at the past that we can't see the present or the future. Tune in from 7pm to 9pm central time see you there...
