It's All About the Fist Bump

    in Entertainment

I have spent the past two years -- off and on -- teaching Shakespeare to adjudicated youth here in the city of Detroit. I don't talk much about it, so I thought I would share a little bit about what has been an incredible experience.

My students are amazing! We just finished our latest semester last weekend. This semester was different than previous semesters as my life has become more intentional in the past 18 months. I know my purpose. I always knew I wanted to share my art, but I didn't know exactly what that art looked like. I have been a writer. I have been an actor. I have been a comedian. Finding Shakespeare in Detroit has changed every aspect of my life. And, so, this semester it was very important for me to know and feel that I was making a real impact as a teacher. Sometimes, evidence of your success doesn't come in the form of some loud, elaborate declaration. There are times, when figuring out if you are doing the right thing or not can be as quiet and subtle as a fist bump.

I hope you'll check out the latest episode of Detroit Meets the Bard!

The Iron Fist of Big Brother: Ruby Ridge, Waco Seige, and Bill Cooper

    in News

We have all heard the story of the "crazy people in Waco" or that "crazy family in Idaho".  Well, the story as told by the mainstream media.  Let's ask ourselves, were they really crazy, or were these people who got on the bad side of an increasingly tyrannical and overreaching government.  Join us as we examine what Bill Clinton called his biggest mistake as president (Waco), Ruby Ridge, and we take a look at a man who may be forgetten by many, but had a very powerful voice.  A man whose message about the government rings true even more nearly 15 years after his death.  Please call as well if you would like to share your stories of government overreach in your life.  Finally, we will touch on the recent Waco incident at Twin Peaks and Pine Ridge.
