Flowers are very common at funerals, masses and in arrangements to honor the recently deceased. They say when you plant a flower, you create a memory. What if you created a memorial in your garden in honor of a loved one instead of buying a floral arrangement? It is a very common practice and also a beautiful way to keep someone's memory alive. What varieties work best? How do you maintain the rose bed? What do you do if the roses become diseased or die because of inclement weather? Tune in to find out! In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to award winning Rosarian, Susan Fox, founder of Gaga’s Garden about what you need to know to honor your loved ones using roses. By the end of 2009 Blaize had already begun working on a more adult audience for her books. She began with a book she originally titled ‘Fire’ on her computer. She eventually self published it under the title ‘District One Stand By: The Captain’s Last year’ in which was published in 2010. By April of that same year, her book had been picked up by a publishing house and she was no longer a self published author. The name changed to ‘Firefighter Down, District One’. By September the book hit the top 100,000 chart on both Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble. By then she was getting interviews with people such as Jo Lindell, The Mudge Report, Benjamin Wallace, The Sasha Marina Show, Morgen Bailey , Clancy Tucker, as well as the ‘Mirror Report’ in the Sun Journal from Lewiston, Maine as well as many others..
“District One Stand By:’ series is based upon my hometown, Standish, Maine. ‘The Captain’s Last Year, One Year to Live: Fighting the Flame and Cancer’ is based in Maine as well. There is something special about Maine that brings out my inspiration to write.” She admitted.Blaize Nolynne books are available everywhere books are sold and including large distributors such as Ingram, Baker and Taylor, ect.
Proceeds of her book : ‘The Captain's Last Year: One Year to Live, Fighting the Flame and Cancer ‘ she is donating not just to cancer research, but to also help a local Maine Fire Chief, Jeff Douglass of Baldwin, Maine who is struggling with terminal cancer. She is putting part of the proceeds for his treatments.

Join me and my special guess Medium, Priest of Oshun, father, Babalorisa Rivelinho Bolivar.
Rive, as he is called by his friends was born in 1978 in Panama City, Panama and grew up in the countryside along the Caribbean coastline in the small town of Salud, in a Catholic family
He was an altar/choir boy and continued my involvement with church service after moving to the US until the age of 16. I've always had a sensitivity to the spiritual world – seeing shadows, hearing voices, able to tune into the vibrations of the homes of others as a child, never being bothered by my ability to sense things. Working with the church also exposed him to the Lucumí pantheon, that also plays an important role in my life in hand with my spiritualist practice, as I observed the holy days of saints which had been syncretized with the Yoruba orishas.
Jim Prince, a native of Central Michigan with over 20 years of fire and rescue service experience spent about 6 months in New Orleans first as a Volunteer Firefighter then as a Logistics Generalist for FEMA.
Jim will recount his experiences in the shattered region and provide fascinating insight into events and occurrences.
Jim had some amazing experiences with FEMA in various ways which he will share. On this show we will focus on aspects of the infrastructure, how the federal/state/local resources may have been better deployed…and provide significant insight into the balance of the three key governmental entities.
Cary and Gretchen will be hosting…we encourage folks to call in and share their feelings…See ya there!
If you don’t like FEMA…call in…ask some questions or share your anger…Call in and lets crawl into the controversy…necessary or not…open discussion is a catharsis…let’s get ‘er done!
Author Cary Black wrote an epoch novel of American heroism called Katrina: A Freight Train Screamin’. The book tells the real story of the worst natural disaster to hit the United States. It chronicles the stories of the people who were on the ground savings lives, the people who were reaching out to rescue the millions of abandoned animals, and the people who survived and heroically came back, dug in, and rebuilt their lives from the chaos. The stories reflect the thoughts of regular folks having to fight for their lives and finding heroism in their souls as they struggled to deal with the enormity of the storm.
The book tells these peoples stories in a way that makes the reader realize how far reaching the depth of this tragedy was...Never to be forgotten
