Strategic Financial Planning Tips for Smbs

    in Entrepreneur

Businesses have different life cycles and the business needs change depending on the cycle that it is in.  My guests are Rick Martin, CFP® & Chuck Conrad, JD of Szarka Financial. This program will explore financial planning implications and techniques for a business as it grows from a start-up into an established business and eventually to the point of transition, whether it is by sale or succession to a family member.
Today's show is sponsored by ICNS Managed Services. Are hidden IT system problems costing your business time and money?  Unless you have the time, expertise and manpower to continuously monitor your servers, network and workstations, chances are they aren’t functioning at their peak.  That means your IT system is actually costing you money in the form of wasted time, service calls and lost productivity.  Let ICNS Managed Services be your 24-7 remote IT Lifeline – on site but out of site. Call 440-891-0465 or visit www.icnsinc.com to learn more.

Close-Up spotlights Angela Grillo CFP® of South County Financial Planning

    in Finance

San Juan Capistrano, CA – Whether your retirement is just around the corner or 30 years away, a sound investment strategy can get you moving in the right direction toward a bright financial future. But retirement is about more than just your investments.

While most certified financial planners focus on the big picture, according to Angela Grillo, it’s the details that are what’s most important. Angela is the founder of South County Financial Planning, a fee-only financial planning firm. Since 2008, Angela has helped thousands of clients from all income levels coordinate their finances with their life goals.

“Everyone should have a financial plan done at least once in their lifetime, even for people who don’t have a lot of assets,” says Angela. “Even one conversation is enough to get them to start thinking about what will work out for them best.”

Before embarking on a career in financial planning, Angela had been a computer programmer. Today, Angela’s clients tend to be engineers, whom many financial planners consider to be the most difficult and demanding clients.

“If I can’t explain how the software arrived at certain figures, they won’t believe me,” says Angela. “I don’t have any difficulty with that because I’m the same way.”

Angela also works with a number of families who have children with special needs. As the mother of a 19-year-old autistic son, Angela can better assist these families, who often struggle with greater living expenses from the fees and costs for different therapies when the child is younger.

“It takes someone with personal experience to understand what the family of a disabled child is going through,” says Angela. “You spend a lot of money in their early years. I can help them head in the right direction."

    in Finance

We all know that there are dangerous financial waters we need to avoid.  Today we'll talk about the worst of the worst, the "Underbelly of the Financial World."  I'll explain why you need to avoid payday lenders like the plague, think twice about title pawning, run away from debt consolidation, and save your money instead of wasting it on lottery tickets.  I'll also share my own (stupid) experiences with all of them!

Two very challenging topics are combined in surprising ways to make one very accessible book.  http://www.richasaking.com

On 8 July 2014, Israel launched Operation Protective Edge in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.  Thereafter, seven weeks of Israeli bombardment, Palestinian rocket attacks, and ground fighting has ensued.  We will be discussing financial planning in these times of war.

Community Investor: Financial Planning with Jack Kiley; Mid Atlantic IRA

    in Real Estate

Joining Host Larry Muck this week on Community investor is Jack Kiley, Managing Partner of MidAtlantic IRA and a CPA. He brings over 30 years of experience in public accounting to the table. He has extensive knowledge in developing tax, retirement and financial planning strategies for high net worth individuals and closely held businesses. He spends his days educating potential clients about the ins & outs of self-direction along with overseeing the “Trust” side of the business.

He is also the “technical” expert with regard to self-directing your IRA. Jack feels strongly about his clients’ having the ability to “self-direct” their retirement. Jack’s reputation for “speaking in plain English” regarding complex concepts gets him invited regularly to speak on these topics to groups across the country – and especially on the topic of self-direction.

His knowledge makes him the expert to turn to, particularly when a complex scenario is needed for the purchase of real estate, mortgages, leases and other cash flows that the IRS allows in an individual retirement plan.
