    Guest:David Farley/Post Production/Dreamworks/The Penguins of Madagascar

    in Movies

David Farley’s career in Feature Post Production began in 1996, when he worked as an assistant to the head of TriStar Pictures post production, Sol Lomita. When TriStar was shuttered, David moved over to Columbia Pictures, where he worked for Russ Paris and Jim Honoré for eight years on over 95 live-action theatrical features. It was an immersive learning experience and in 2006, David got the opportunity to be a post supervisor in a genre in which he had little experience: animation. At Sony Pictures Animation, David was the post supervisor on Surf’s Up (Oscar nominated for Best Animated Movie), Open Season 2, and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. In 2010, after 14 years at Sony, David left to work on one of the crown jewels of DreamWorks Animation, Shrek, when he post supervised the 2D digital restoration and 3D stereo conversion of Shrek, Shrek 2, and Shrek the Third. Shortly after, David was post supervisor on Puss In Boots (Oscar nominated for Best Animated Movie) and Rise of the Guardians, the latter of which was the first theatrical feature to create both an 11.1 Auro mix as well as a Dolby Atmos mix. Recently, David was post production supervisor on How To Train Your Dragon 2 and is currently working on The Penguins of Madagascar, which is scheduled for
wide release on November 26, 2014. You can email your questions to 123filmeasy@gmail.Follow us on Twitter @123Film
