Mr. Dennis Maguire graduated from Santa Clara University he went to work on, THE LEGEND OF THE LONE RANGER, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dennis spent 5 years building sets before Roger Rothstein, a producer, was kind enough to allow him to interview as the Set P.A. on the feature film, ONLY WHEN I LAUGH. Eventually, Dennis did 400 days as a Set P.A. and became a member of the Directors Guild of America as a 2nd Assistant Director. He moved up to 1st Assistant Director shortly after that and has enjoyed a successful career on many feature films, including: Angela's Ashes, Evita, Soldier, The Specialist, Patriot Games, Misery, The Scarlet Letter, Rambo III, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. More recently Dennis has been involved with THE MECHANIC, MEDALLION, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, STOLEN, and Leprechaun’s Revenge. A chat with film maker Ken Burns and his daughter Sarah Burns. THE CENTRAL PARK FIVE, a new film from award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns, will air on April 16, 2013, 9–11 p.m. ET on PBS (check local listings). The film tells the story of the five black and Latino teenagers from Harlem who were wrongly convicted of raping a white woman in New York City’s Central Park in 1989.

Summer Film Preview
Noted film critics Laura Frank Clifford and Mack Bates join Movie Addict HQ for a preview of 2013 summer movie offerings. With over 100 new films opening during the summer months, many fans need help in deciding which movies deserve their attention, so Laura and Mack plan to offer their suggestions. Laura co-hosts Reeling: The Movie Review Show, which has been broadcast at the Malden, Massachusetts, cable access television station since 1991. She belongs to the Broadcast Critics Association and the Online Film Critics Society. Mack contributes freelance articles to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and serves as a staff blogger for Milwaukee Magazine’s official film blog. He is currently working on a short film script he wrote earlier in the year and hopes to film it sometime in 2013. He also has plots in place for five other narrative-driven shorts, a thesis for a short documentary, and a 13-part web series.

Peter Lord, CBE is a British film producer, director and co-founder of the Academy Award-winning Aardman Animations studio, an animation firm best known for its clay-animated films and shorts, particularly those featuring plasticine duo Wallace & Gromit. He also directed Pirates! Band of Misfits which he was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 85th Academy Awards for. Aardman has a deserved reputation as a world leader in model animation. The studio has had seven Oscar® nominations, and has won four.Peter Lord and David Sproxton began their animating partnership at school.In 1989 the studio was commissioned by Channel Four Television to create a series of five 5-minute films, Lip Synch. This ground-breaking series further explored the world of animation based on true characters and real voices and included Peter Lord’s War Story and Going Equipped, Barry Purves’ Next, Richard Goleszowski’s Ident and Nick Park’s Creature Comforts, which went on to win the 1990 AcademyAward for Best Animated Short Film.In 1993 Aardman passed another milestone with the completion of Nick Park’s Oscar winning The Wrong Trousers, Aardman’s first 30 minute film. In 1996 the studio produced Peter Lord’s Oscar nominated 11’ short film, Wat’s Pig (for Channel Four) as well as a children’s series based on Morph, The Morph Files.In 1998, Aardman won a BAFTA for Stage Fright, an 11minute short film commissioned by Channel Four Television. Steve Box, Nick Park’s key animator on both The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave, directed Stage Fright.The studio’s first animated television series for youth and adults, Rex The Runt, created and directed by long time Aardman associate Richard Goleszowski.Chicken Run was Aardman’s first full-length theatrical feature film to be funded by DreamWorks. In 2009 Oakland based independent filmmaker Kerri Gawryn began chronicling the work of Beats, Rhymes and Life (a local Oakland, CA advocacy organization for youth of color) and the Oakland High School Fifth Element Hip Hop Club. The result is A LOVELY DAY, an inspiring feature-length film documenting the trials, tribulations, and achievements of a group of Oakland high school students and rappers. The young rappers embark on a six-month journey to find their voice, their talent, and their path to healing within Hip Hop culture.
